How do you see the portal or is this just known announcements of departure via social media or news outlets?

Leave it to an LSU fan to keep everyone updated on news involving Bama.

Going to be interesting to see which players are in portal to truly leave, or how many are just using it as leverage to get a better NIL deal like a free agent?

could you have ever imagined saying something like this and it being a reasonable take 10 years ago? I can't stand that's where we are in college sports now

I hate to break it to you, but processing is going to happen in large volume everywhere. The Portal is going to be wild.

Not really that much of a surprise. Younger players (Prentice, Law, Anderson) have beaten him out for PT and we have some good talent coming in.

Interestingly enough, none of them who have declared they're entering the portal have actually done so yet.

Updated as of 1 hour ago.

Holden - surprising. He was getting plenty of reps.

Leary - not surprising. He was behind about 6 guys on the depth chart.

George - Sort of surprising. He had made it to the OL the last three games.

Sanders - Not surprising. He was the backup to Brian Robinson last year but fell to about 4th on the depth chart. Was never the same after his automobile accident - amazing resilience to make his way back. I hope he gets to start wherever he lands.

25 years ago, the average salary for a Div 1 coach was under $500K a year and the term "buyout" did not exist. If you are looking for a trigger point for NIL, coaches salaries would be a good place to start.

Tanner Bowles just entered, he will probably be a useful swing OL player somewhere just not much opportunity for him next year at Bama with some young guys locking down spots.

Think Amari Kight entered as well, he could start somewhere at OT.

Thanks to the NCAA being worthless as per usual its now free agent signing period for every player in America with 1 year contracts and no salary cap.
