Nothing personal against all of the hardcore college baseball fans on this board willing to die on the hill defending the relevance and importance of their beloved sport with the sensitivity of 7th grade girls at a Sadie Hawkins Dance. Also, it's all subjective and you'd have to operationalize and define "big," but my question is how can college baseball possibly be a big sport when very few college baseball teams actually turn a profit.

Arkansas is one of just a few college baseball programs to have turned a profit. According to a June 2020 report from the Omaha World-Herald, just 15 of 299 NCAA Division 1 baseball programs, including Arkansas, did so in 2019.

Also, how can college baseball be a big sport when way more people watch women's college softball than men's baseball and it's not even close?

TV Numbers: WCWS, championship crush MCWS in ratings

If nothing else, it's a nice diversion in the spring?

You just kicked the nuts of most all travel ball parents who ever lived.

I hope you are proud of yourself.

Ole Miss turns a profit in baseball, and I'm pretty sure State and LSU do as well.

I don't know of anybody on this board that is going to argue that college baseball is bigger than football or basketball. At best it's the 3rd most popular.

That doesn't mean that it's not the most enjoyed sport from April - June

Not sure what the intention of this thread was.

I’d guess womens basketball draws more people nationwide.

I'm going for my personal best Downvote total with this one. The college baseball people on this board are militant and stick together strong

I love college baseball compared to the pros. Having a good team makes it even better, but I've always enjoyed college baseball. It also helps that its basically the last big sport that is still budget friendly to attend compared to football and even at times basketball.

Notice it's the Moo States and South Carolinas who have to prop up baseball.

Bc ESPN has gone way too woke and made sure to shove women's softball and the WCWS down our throats compared to the men's.

Thank you.

Not sure why college baseball gets so much hate here.

This. It's not like college baseball is on ESPN as much as woke garbage being pushed.

Quote from article:

This marks the third time since 2015 that the Women’s College World Series has outdrawn the CWS in terms of TV viewership in the Championship Series.

So, 3 times in 7 years WCWS has drawn more. Wow. So, dominating. I'd argue it depends on the teams involved. Michigan/Florida WCWS is going to draw a lot better relatively for that year in softball than a MSU/Vandy final in the CWS.

Also, I'm sending over my tourney ball nephew, Paxton, to scissor kick you in the nads.

What other sports are you comparing baseball to over that time period? Women's volleyball?
