Are you making their band sit in round rock and turning off the AC to their Locker Room like you did us ? Lol

With fresh potatoes?
Yep.
Good french fries are blanched. It removes the excess starch and gives you that really soft inside and the crispy outside. The fries at Milo's and basically anywhere else you buy french fries are blanched. McDonalds fries are blanched, etc.
You don't have to, but freezing them makes them taste better when it comes to cooking them IMO.
In-N-Out fries are just all around mushy starch bombs.
Just because it's "Fresh" doesn't mean it's better. Far from it in the case of french fries.
Now if they want to go through the entire process of blanching the fries on the same day and/or something like that - probably be really good. But shoving a potato through a slicer and claiming it's better because it's fresh is just marketing.
Look up how to blanch fries, it's not a hard process. Try it for yourself, my wife makes them every now and then. Really good.

I recommend Maudie’s on Lake Austin for mainstream Tex-Mex Also, Guero’s on South Congress and Matt’s El Rancho. Can’t go wrong with these.
We used to have breakfast at The Driscoll Hotel on Sixth Street and always enjoyed it.
For a great neighborhood steak place, Jeffrey’s.

For people driving that don't mind a bit of a hike and a 200-300 dollar bill, Tillies in Dripping Springs was amazing. Wife and I did a weekend in Lakeway and that was out first stop. Blew our other expensive dinner (3 Forks) out of the water.

Holy crap. I hadn't heard of it but that place looks amazing.

Is the Oasis on Lake Travis still the place to go for sunsets, food, and booze? I haven’t been to Austin in over 20 years but is was the place to go.

When you drive up, you're thinking "What did I get us into?" because it's on what looks like a church camp. Then you go inside and its amazing. They have a small fenced area with alpacas right outside the restaurant that you can pet/feed after dinner. Really interesting set up but I can't give it enough praise. Really works.
We sat next to that first black table cloth table on the left in that picture.
Great menu and some really genius cocktail creations.

Only if you hang around the Salvation Army because you know nothing about your surroundings.
We had a vote to reinstitute the camping ban so it's a lot cleaner these days.

I think you can say that about most huge metro's, especially the downtown areas.
If you get out of downtown, it's pretty nice... and this is coming from somebody who has tried to avoid Austin at all costs most of his life.
Until a few weekends ago, I had never in my adult life stayed in the area. Though driving the hills can get annoying for someone used to driving flat areas (Live in southern DFW), it really is beautiful down there.
Don't get me wrong, I could never live there with the traffic and politics of the city/people, but I won't continue to avoid visiting every now and then.

It's definitely hard to beat the views from The Oasis. The food is mediocre but that's not really why people go there.

Is 6th Street or 6th Avenue still a thing? I was at a conference out that way many moons ago sponsored by DELL and he rented the whole street. I didn't drink back then but there were several micro breweries that my buddy hit up and plenty of good food. Talked to Michael Dell for a good bit.

I feel they will be more than gracious with their end zones. Unfortunately, I think they will feel Bama overstayed their welcome and took advantage of their graciousness.
Apologies in advance.

What is the least hipster/homeless/leftist bar in town?

I don't know why you're trying to avoid establishments based on politics (kinda weird) but I guess a generic bar would be something like Boomerz or Backspin.

Whoa, nice. Yep, 6th Street is the main entertainment district in Austin; our version of Beale St. It can get pretty rowdy but also a lot of fun, if that's your cup of tea.
