re: Good game Missouri

Compared to last year, this mizzou team is unfathomable. I look at what A&M did between 2003-2004 and 2004-2005, but this trumps that

His buyout is stupid (thanks Barnhart) so the hope is he’ll take another job.

Hopefully whatever school try’s to hire him doesn’t have a TexAgs that blows it up in hours after revolt to the leak

4 is nothing.. A&M will have 20 pretty soon going back 120 years..

Most of us claim one, 1939

I would say 1917 and 1919 should count, both undefeated, untied, not scored upon. But don’t claim them

And yes, insert the titanic “it’s been 85 years” gif
Auburn or Tennessee. Auburn because I always felt they were most like A&M given their in state situation. Tennessee because as a kid, I loved the checkered end zone.
Can we not use the R word, please. Too much history with that word.

My Down syndrome son would appreciate it
Cruz is about one of 2-3 true constitutionalists that are actually in congress.

Trump did trump things and dogged him. Trumps following has to be respected if you’re a conservative whether you like them or not.

Ted’s kissing the ring has no bearing on his competence as one of the few constitutionalist congressman.

He does have a punchable face.

Dude, can we not hate on people like my toddler son with DS to make a point to a rival? Mentally challenged people are some of the greatest, nicest people in the world.

Evan Stewart and Ainias Smith would both start at Texas and probably everywhere else in the nation.

Only probably Marvin Harrison Jr is noticably better than Stewart in all of College Football.

So be it. My politics are anything but, however if I'm labeled "Woke" over that request, I'll wear it as a badge of honor for what he means to me. My little man isn't even 2 yet, but I will advocate for him his/my entire life. Part of being a Dad.

Before we had him, I was also throwing the R word about, especially in reference to things I thought were stupid or lame. I'm not proud of it and have had to relearn my vernacular.
And to answer the question... still don't know.

A&M sat in 3 down bringing at most an extra linebacker against Tyler Van Dyke and Miami. The Canes have a good to very good line and handled it well. TVD had time to throw all game and hit his passes.

In the past 2 games, albeit against poorer OLs than Miami, a QB catastrophe at Auburn, and a QB at Arkansas that has talent but doesn't look comfortable when in the pocket, Durkin has dialed up the pressure. A lot more 4 down, and bringing 5 or 6 rushers most of the game. When you have a blitzing nickel, or two blitzing LBs, it has given the DL more opportunities to really show what they can do. The young talent has started to show on the DL and Shemar Turner has been mentioned by a few national talking heads as one of the most impactful and best hand on the ground DL in the nation.

IF A&M can continue to dial up pressure and get home without getting torched by screens or blitz pickups with a ball over the top, it can be a good to great defense.

If they can't, well it'll be the Miami game all over again.

Seems to be a high risk, high reward scenario. Some weeks it will work and you'll look dominant. Others, especially others with a good OL and good QB, it wont.

Against Ole Miss, South Carolina, and LSU all have good QBs. Could be a recipe for disasters. I'd have added Mississippi St having a good QB, but that OL is swiss cheese right now.

Bama will be interesting. As will Tennessee.

Cupcake of Abeliene Christian is the only one that looks for sure to be a cake walk the rest of the way.

This team could very well go 5-7 again. Or they could end up 10-2. We'll learn a lot more this weekend.

Can we please retire the R-word on the Rant? Idiot, moron, etc is so much better. My son with Down Syndrome appreciates it.
Originally thought ankle sprain after first X-Rays were negative. Did a closer scan of the foot, found a fracture on a weight bearing bone.

3-4 month recovery. Maybe back for a bowl game (If Max can win 3 more games)
I was in club level which has a full bar and didn't go to a regular concession stand saturday, but a Hopadillo IPA was $13 at Kyle Field.

re: What is College Station like?

Posted by shanklin12 on 6/27/23 at 1:56 pm
You really have to include Bryan as well if talking about College Station. It is very much BCS more than just one of the other.

Restaurant scene has gotten better over time. Still a ton of chains but some actual nicer standalones have come along and upped things several notches.

Campus is huge and is at the north central part of town. North of it is North Gate, the primary nightlife scene. East of campus is a string of restaurants and stores with residences behind that. South of campus is mainly residences. West of campus is FM 2818, a bunch of apartments, a few communities, then a bunch of farm land.

South part of town has exploded since I was down there. So many more communities and businesses.

Things to do if you're visiting
-George HW Bush Library
-Bonfire Memorial, Memorial Students Center, Aggie Park
-Go to a game if it's a game weekend
-Check out Northgate, eat a Freebird at the original location (in texas... think there was a one off in california first), have a beer at the dixie chicken, learn to play 42 at the dominos tables there
-Play golf on campus or find somebody that knows somebody at one of the nicer private courses

I guess since we are on the topic of erroneously claiming stuff, I thought I'd bring my expertise as an Aggie. We've been doing this for decades!

Flat out, AP should be the only answer... but if 2 or more other publications give it to you, are you supposed to turn it down? I guess in Bama's situation in wouldn't matter much with the plethora since that time.

The only us Ags can really claim is 1939 (Insert the "it's been 84 years Titanic Gif Here).

But it would have been cool to have actually gotten the nod in 1917 and 1919. Not only did the Aggies go undefeated, they went unscored upon. 270-0 and 275-0 respectively. I believe Georgia Tech got the 1917 crown (with their 222-0 game mixed in) and Harvard got the 1919 crown.

I only take I-10 going to and from Fort Morgan, so maybe you all can answer this. Why is there always a slow down when you are headed east right before the Mississippi River bridge in BR? Rain/no rain, any time of day, it always seems to take 30 minutes to get from Gross Tete to 12.
We need to introduce these guys without a Mexican border to Cabrito.

re: SEC BBQ is pork based

I mean, I love pork belly burnt ends, a good moist pulled pork, and slow and low pork ribs...

But a brisket done right is untouchable. And "Dino Ribs" (Giant beef plate short ribs) smoked to perfection are better than anything pork I have had smoked.

If we are ranking the typically smoked items:

1. Beef
2. Pork
3. Turkey
4. Chicken

Cabrito done right would leapfrog 3 and 4 for sure, maybe 2.
