This really sucks. My whole entire lifetime of memories of CFB revolve primarily around the SEC being on CBS.

Yep. Just chalk it up as another way CFB is killing its fans, albeit, this one isn’t because of the NCAA.

ESPN/ABC need to get their act together as far as broadcast quality, picture quality, sound quality, quality of announcers and basically everything else in order to get even close to what CBS has.

I agree with the poster earlier who said CBS games just have a big game feel to them and ESPN games(no matter how big a matchup) all seem the same.

ESPN needs to make the SEC games feel different than a Thursday night Sun Belt game. Right now they don’t.

Mine revolved around Jefferson Pilot and PPV and the radio. Count your blessings things keep changing.

Yet here you are.

Yet, your head has been in the sand the last 10 years. From Trans issues to race and religion, sports has been used to push any agenda.

Like I said before, a lot of that big game feel came from the fact that those were frequently the biggest SEC games and therefore the biggest national games. We'll all be fine.

CBS blows ESPN away. Better production and sports shows are about the game and not some off-topic political nonsense. Plus they are going to pay us a ton of money.

And like I said it didn’t matter how big the matchup, the CBS game had a big game feel to it. There are some weeks where you can have 2 or 3 very similar matchups with top 15-20 teams and the CBS broadcast will make their game feel way bigger than the ESPN broadcast that has two similarly ranked teams.

Agree 100%...CBS does such a good job, they could make Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt seem like a big time game..

I tape BIG games then run them fast forward so they look like a SEC game.

SEC leadership was a bunch of fricking idiots to give everything to ESPN.

They carried over their NFL experience to the college game.

They obviously had the infrastructure in place when they picked up the SEC and were able to focus all that in to just one game a week.

Gary Danielson & Brad Nessler will finally get to call Purdue v Minnesota football games CBS

I would bet Gary calls it quits soon. I can't believe he would want to go from calling the best SEC game every week to go freeze his nuts off in B1G country starting in October.

The SEC deal with ESPN will get redone now that Texas and Oklahoma are joining. The Big10 money will only be the largest for a short time.

Why would he quit when he just received a promotion?

Gary has been phoning it in for years. We complain about how he always talks about Alabama, no matter who is playing. But the reality is, he isn't talking about current Alabama, he's often talking about Alabama 7 years ago. He has about 12 reference points committed to memory (most about Alabama circa 2015ish) and he'll try to compare everything that happens in a game to one of those things.

If he can't, he'll probably start talking about something that happened to him on the golf course recently.

I would not be surprised at all if he chooses to call it quits rather than have to learn a whole new conference.
