Florida was picked to finish 4th in the East by the SEC media, and I think many agree that UF will have a mediocre season.
The Gators finished the 2021 season at 6-7 (2-6 SEC) and obviously unranked in either poll.
2021 Schedule
vs FAU W 35 - 14
@ South Florida W 42 - 20
vs (1) Alabama L 29 - 31
vs Tennessee W 38 - 14
@ Kentucky L 13 - 20
vs Vanderbilt W 42 - 0
@ LSU L 42 - 49
vs (1) Georgia L 7 - 34
@ South Carolina L 17 - 40
vs Samford W 70 - 52
@ Missouri L 23 - 24
vs Florida State W 24 - 21
vs UCF L 17 - 29
2022 Schedule
Sat, Sep 3 vs Utah
Sat, Sep 10 vs Kentucky
Sat, Sep 17 vs South Florida
Sat, Sep 24 @ Tennessee
Sat, Oct 1 vs E Washington
Sat, Oct 8 vs Missouri

Sat, Nov 5 @ Texas A&M
Sat, Nov 12 vs South Carolina
Sat, Nov 19 @ Vanderbilt
Fri, Nov 25 @ Florida State
OK I see the definite losses as Utah, Georgia and A&M, and the definite wins are South Florida and Eastern Washington.
This leave a whole bunch of toss up games.
Sep 10 vs Kentucky
Sep 24 @ Tennessee
Oct 8 vs Missouri
Oct 15 vs LSU
Nov 12 vs South Carolina
Nov 19 @ Vanderbilt
Nov 25 @ Florida State
Call me an optimist, but I think we go 4-3 against those teams. 6-6 for Florida in 2022.
Tell me where I am wrong.

I'm pretty down on Napier. I know he gets a lot of love on here because of Tech but the recruiting hasn't exactly impressed, and at Florida there's just no reason to not have a perennial powerhouse class with your in state pull, especially with FSU and Miami being extremely meh.
6-6 seems reasonable to me for Florida this year.

It depends on who gets injured during the season.
If AR gets hurt, the defense is injured, we will be 5-7 or 4-8. We'll lose to FSU.
If there are few injuries, then it will be 9-3 or 10-2...or better.

There will be at least one hurricane out towards Hawaii that will prevent a major game from being played in Gainesville is my only prediction

8-4. Utah will be a great challenge so how they play in that game (win or lose) will dictate a lot of things

I think UF has better athletes than UK. You got LSU in a rebuilding year after a coaching change. So that's a coin toss. I'll lean LSU here, just gut, really don't know. Losses to aTm, and UGA. Other than the three game losing streak in October to November, I think UF wins the rest of them. No Bama and no Arky, which I think will be the best 2 west teams, and the most physical ones. So I see 9-3, thanks to a weak ooc schedule.

UF has 2 seasons.
6 of 7 games at the Swamp before the bye -
the 4 of 5 games away from the Swamp after the bye -
Florida will beat either Utah or Kentucky, but not both. Willingham & Stoops too established in their programs for Napier to get both those pelts on the wall his first 2 games. Gators will absolutely destroy Lil Fat Bradstard/Chad Morris & USF before heading to Knox.
it's anyone's guess how Napier's offensive scoring will try to match TDs likely over 3 or maybe 4 straight possessions in the game. do that and UF could get a season elevating road win. it won't be the same script as the 2021 contest. will be interesting to see how UTK handles revenge after Gators absolutely embarrassed Heupel in the Swamp last year.
E Washington & Missouri should net 2 wins. LSU game is arguably more critical to UF's season than the Cocktail Party two Saturdays later. a 5-2 record pre-bye week at worst is vital.
most any HC in his first season with a new team will have a tough time playing 4 of 5 weeks away from the home field to finish a season. Napier couldn't be set up any better with 6 of 7 at home to start his career in Gainesville, though. he has to capitalize on it.
7 regular season wins seems to be a safe number for UF with that schedule. 9 and 5 are not unthinkable, either.
