I'm not sure Auburn is the right team to be getting involved in the debate about paying players.

So he turned down Alabama's 6-figure offer to go play for Bobby Bowden, Jimbo's Angel, for free?

Pandora's Box is open and boy, she be uuuuuugly.

College ball is done. Interest in it has been going down for quite awhile; this will make it worse.

Let me guess Tide fans, a former cfb player recruited by Alabama saying Alabama has been offering players big money for years also “means nothing”?

Like I said, Saban opened a can of worms that now cannot be closed.

Saban’s legacy now tarnished

Alabama’s “dynasty” now tarnished

I mean, as of now for football, we are really the only ones that can definitively say that we can endure an NCAA and FBI anal probe and come out clean the other side. Not saying we aren't doing the same as everyone, but we at least have that all clear.

Understandably basketball is a different situation and we have no room to talk with that in mind, even though that wasn't recruiting related.

Saban will be outted later on. Possibly after he retires. The details will be fantastic. What a hypocrite

Tarnished bro

Just because you don’t want to hear it, doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

Seems like it would be better for everybody with knowledge and evidence of said "cheating" to go ahead and take him down now, right? Why wait? Put it all on the table.

I mean you have the details, right?

There has always been a market. The only difference is now we get to know what the prices really are.

Papa Bowden was far from being the humble, God fearing persona he went out of his way to sell to college football. Whether he copied Billy Brewer at O. Miss recruiting's methods or not, he used the same system: he got the money to the churches in the community; the Lord's men then got the money to the right people. He had 2 such bag men here in La., one in B.R. another in N.O. So it's laughable for Jimbo to use him as a reference.

Agreed. Lucky for us our schools won the last 2 real national titles in CFB. We will always have that.
