Just curious of the rants opinions.. I’m really not sure..
Is this it the SEC is the first of 4-5 (16) teams confs.. or are we headed to 24 at some point.
Who would you seriously want if we went that big?
Clemson? FSU? Miami?

I hope so. Any larger and it won't be a true conference.

"Let's kick out Missoura and get somebody that fits in better! They ain't SEC!"
Did I do it right?

Since we apparently cannot go back to the original 12 and sec is already diluted with non-fits……..
I really wish the ACC/B10/Pac would catch up and we’d have congruent, although not-as-competitive conferences. .
Otherwise I would not mind seeing all the rest form a league with about 20 teams after we added, Clem/fsu/vt plus one more since we are headed in that direction.
Would love for the ncaa to dissolve and get some semblance of
Sec
ACC
Big east
Big12
Big 10
Pac12

While I vaguely support Oklahoma and Texas joining its going to be very unwieldy as is.

I’ve hated every expansion we’ve had, but college football is changing at a rapid pace and I believe future expansion will happen.
Clemson, fsu, Miami, VaTech, Virginia are all possibilities.

I would rather Missouri get kicked out of the conference and we picked up someone who fit better. Missouri just isn't a good fit in the SEC.

I like Arkansas and South Carolina. But that happened my first year at Auburn so I really didn't know any better/

Truth is, the teams that joined don’t like it either.
Aggy and Mizz don’t truly have rivals here in the conference.
Behind closed doors they’d rather have the big12 perform like the sec on the field and financially. That’s not a flame.
It’s just true and not a flame. Mizz would rather fight with Kansas and then play with Arky and Illinois OOC.
Texas A and M would rather have a competitive BIG12 and venture out to play lsu OOC.
Go back even further and they would tell you they prefer the swc and big 8 to not fail.
The cultures matched up better.

Expansion has always been a financial decision.
The first one opened up Arkansas and South Carolina markets.
The second one opened up Texas and Missouri markets.
The third one brings in one of the largest fanbases in the country (Texas) and opens up the Oklahoma market.
*IF* they were to do so, they'd want more markets. That means, most likely, targeting schools in North Carolina and Virginia (above average populations, still in the "Southern" footprint, mostly). That being said, each expansion has to be weighed positive vs negative.
I'm not sold that Texas' positives outweigh their negatives, but I presume the people that make these decisions know more than I do about this particular subject.

If tu and chokelahoma actually show up, then I think the SEC will be done expanding

In a true conference everybody plays everybody else. SEC hasn’t been a true conference throughout its history.

As I understand it, the existing 8 game SEC conference schedule means you only play some schools one time every ~eight years? In a 4 year period, how many conference teams do you NOT play?
As a student, never getting to see your team play Alabama or LSU or Florida or Georgia or ??? would kinda suck.
That suggests it's a "conference" in name only, more of a collection of schools with a common business interest.

Expansion will never be done when money can be made, especially the basketball market $$$
