Bama is a bad baseball program. It is what it is. Most people don't even care. There is a lot more softball talk than baseball. Probably going to require a coaching change to make things better.

No, Bama is not a bad baseball team. Iona is a bad baseball team.

Random to see this. Dropping off kids at school this morning, I talked to a friend who played baseball at Iona

When Bohannon took over Bama baseball, it was the equivalent of UGA basketball or Vandy football v.2022. It was that bad. Bo is in his 5th season in Tuscaloosa. He's made some good progress to this point but it needs to continue. Right now, I'd guess his seat is just the tiniest bit warm from a mediocre start so far. He's got plenty of time to turn it around and it would take a pretty bad collapse to get axed this year. I think it's fair to say he's officially on the clock now and better continue his progression or his tenure will end in the next season or so.

UNA last beat bama in 1985..........so this is not unprecedented.

Probably going to require a lottery in Bama to make things better.

Why not find your next football HC for next year? That will make the baseball coach looking a lot better!

I am hoping NIL will help both programs. If not, we are both still behind the 8 ball.

Auburn and Alabama are at severe disadvantages due to scholarship limits.

We've got one of the top LHP in amateur baseball. But he's been injured for most of his career. Just bad luck there
But Bo does need to improve the offense. I'm still hopeful.

This has happened several times. Pushing out Jim Wells never should have happened. Mitch Gaspard who replaced him was also let go when he probably shouldn’t have been either IMO
That said, Alabama isn’t as bad as their record would indicate over the last few years. They just happen to play in a division that’s an absolute meat grinder. Not easy to share a division with LSU, State, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. If they were in a different conference, they’d be going to the NCAAT most years

I’ve never understood Bama’s refusal to invest in its baseball program. Granted, it’s not a revenue producing sport for most schools but there are a lot of good/great high school programs in the state. If you’re willing to invest in programs like softball and gymnastics why not baseball?

They literally just built a brand new stadium

We have a beautiful stadium and great facilities, hired a respected young coach from inside the conference. Not sure what else we can do.
