Lotta talk about Kessler, Jabari, and KD, and rightly so but WGjr. Is the straw that stirs the drink. Love watching that kid slice in there amongst the trees and make stuff happen! He either converts or gets fouled or both and his reverse layup is a killer.

Defenders absolutely cannot stay in front of him when he wants to get into the lane.

I love him too, and he runs the offense so much better than Zep because of his quickness. I do wish Green would see the big guys calling for the ball when they are in the paint and have cleared out their guy. I saw many times mismatches with Jabari and Kessler that Green simply didn't get them the ball.

Zep is our best defender out there, but his offense is almost nothing.

So pearl has to try and mix and match with them to get the most out of them.

I love this whole team!

I think it's the most fun I've had watching an Auburn CBB team!

He's a very important piece to our puzzle. Best ball handler on the team. His biggest drawback is his defense. Pinson absolutely abused him last night. Pinson either scored or got to the line every time when Green was guarding him.

I was rewatching the USCe game and thought to myself...I would love to see a fricking 10 on 10 no holds barred cage-match hoops game. Come on. Anyone - throw your best ten on the floor against any 10 CBP chooses.

AU's top ten would absolutely run any and every fricking other top ten off the court, embarrassed and in awe.

And as to NIL deals and all, though I have long been on record that Jabari goes 1st and Walker is waaay up there as well, .....what if could entice at least one of them back with whatever NIL deal it takes.

Can't we do that? Can we not compete to keep 1,2-3 key cogs at AU for next year with NIL? No idea how it works, but damn it would be sweet if someone gets that done.

War Eagle.

ETA Wendell Greene will always deserve a 5 point line.

He reminds me so much of Jared Harper with the way he plays.
He is like trying to chase a squirrel through a blackberry bush, and he will look you right in the eye, then pull up and rip a 25 footer for three.
He also wears #1.
I absolutely LOVE watching him play.
His court vison and feeding the ball inside is also similar to JH.

No I doubt NIL money can compete with first round money. First 2 years are guaranteed contracts. Ranging from 8+ million for the number 1 pick, around 2.5 million for number 15 and 1.75 for number 30. And those are 2 year contracts with a year 3 and year 4 options for the team. Most teams selecting in the first round want to keep that player at least 4 years or want a player that has a high enough ceiling to trade for a proven player that fills a role on a team set to make the playoffs.

It's probably closer than I would've anticipated in the preseason. But we definitely need to see how he does in the postseason, and assuming he's here for another season.

I started a thread when he first committed calling him the next Jared Harper, but I don't think it's really a fair comparison anymore. Their only similarities are being short and having insanely long range, other than that they're completely different players

LINK

That was before Kessler had committed, and KellerChrystFan being his usual douchey self, absolutely certain that Kessler wouldn't go to Auburn, and that Tennessee had a better shot frick that guy, he's more butthurt than anyone over Auburn basketball

Just gonna bump this bad boy because Wendell Green Jr. is the truth. Kid is a straight up baller. Ain’t afraid of the devil himself. That dribble drive between the legs followed by the step-back 3 was nails when we needed it. I love this kid

I’m no draft expert, but I don’t see him as a first rounder right now. There is potential he comes back.

Je could be a very late 1st rounder just bc of size and inside shot blocking.

He hasn't shown but probably has a good turn around jumper inside but need to see him use it.

All i have seen is slams and some putbacks and a few 3s.

He's not strong enough to muscle anyone and he definitely struggled with quicker players coming down the lane.

"Wendell Green lets cameras know he's in a groove after this 3 Wendell Green let's the cameras know he's in a groove after he crosses over and uses a stepback move to cash out a deep 3-point shot."

You can see this clip under the Bruce Pearl Post Game interview.

I caught this last night and watched this clip to make sure I didn't mistake what happened ....Green is coming back to defend and brushing off his jersey ...Watch his right eye ....He winks at the camera.

If you ever play with a kid with this talent....you will get schooled and laugh about how talented he is. I played with one my Senior year ....He could do amazing things with a basketball in the paint. My job was to get the ball down the court and set up the offense ....I averaged 3 points a game ....But man ,,what a talented shooter Dobie was. I scored 10 one night, stole two during full court presses and hit three jump shots at the top of the key. Nothing but net. Coach called time and asked what I was doing ...
"Scoring"
"Well cut it out before you hurt yourself."
