Schools are operating under CDC guidelines, which means an automatic 10-day quarantine.

The semifinal is 10 days away. Saban says he expects both back for the game.

Pretty ridiculous that you could get this far and have everything to play for and then have a key player required to sit with the sniffles. Imagine if a Bryce or Will had to sit a playoff game? It’s become such a farce

Better now than next week, but if what has happened in the NFL the last 10 days is any indication this is not going to be the end of our positive tests.

Hopefully no more positive tests, but with the way this variant spreads so fast, who knows. Really wish they would update the protocols. It sucks to lose a player if they are asymptomatic or just have a runny nose or something. Oh well, here's hoping we stay healthy.

What are the SEC's testing requirements for vaccinated players/coaches again?

I believe you test only if you have symptoms. Not like last year where you had mandatory tests twice a week.

So if 90% of the team has the booster, then theoretically they could have it and never know if they don't have symptoms.

Charlie Potter on BOL confirmed they are not doing contact tracing.

This should be worth about at least 10 more points for the offense.

Charlie Potter on BOL just confirmed they are only testing if you're symptomatic.

So if 90% of the team has the booster like Saban stated, then they may never show symptoms or may be asymptomatic, and therefore never get tested.

What do they consider symptomatic? Sniffles? Fever?

How can A&M not have enough players?!?!?! I assume the team is vaccinated....so if true, how can that many players have it?!?!? Just goes to show it seems quite sketchy.. they need to stop calling it a vaccine and just call it a shot....

Hope Bama doesn't explode....

Also, if they are only testing if you have symptoms, if I'm a player, I ain't sayin' shite!!!

The A&M thing is absolutely sketchy at hell. They had opt outs at key spots, didn't have a QB and just decided to take the easy way out in a game they knew could be embarrassing.

With these new rules of forfeit, the schools will probably advise them to not say anything

I mean seriously, unless a guy is very feverish along with cold symptoms, who the hell is going to say anything? It's December - everyone is sniffling. My kids have been sick for like 3 straight months it seems like.

This is a way for them to have "protocols" without having anything with actual teeth.

Also, 10 day quarantine is ridiculous, seven days max is sufficient.

Some teams (A&M, LSU last year) may fudge numbers to avoid games.

Alabama may fudge numbers to play.

Exactly especially when the variant that affected those who are vaccinated has yet to be severe. No different than the flu and should be treated like the flu. And the so called vaccination is going to become an annual booster no different than the flu shot.

There should be no quarantine whatsoever for those vaccinated or for someone possibly exposed nor a 7 or 10 day waiting period. If you have symptoms go rest until they are gone. Once gone expect to see you back on the field.

It is a way to appease the insurance companies and avoid liability. The NCAA nor the CFB playoffs could care less about player safety only the money being made.
