Then fire him after 2-3 years if we don’t win
I’m not emotionally attached to coaches like some you. Harsin is working with Malzahns recruits - or lack there of in the trenches- and some of them may not like him, who cares. Harsin will have his chance at recruiting/coaching, if he doesn’t work out then fire him and go get someone else to pay millions.

That is what will happen. I don’t mind players leaving if you have guys to fill in. It’s just part of it. But players leaving, like we have had at QB,RB, DL with nothing behind it , makes for troubled times.
Hopefully there are some portal guys out there.

Yes sir, I’d prefer the band aid to be ripped off sooner than later- if it’s in fact a coaching issue behind the guys leaving.
I think this recruiting class will tell us a lot and the next 2 seasons. If it isn’t working, fire him and find someone else.

The portal guys Harsin brought in last year were better than the guys that left.
Leota >>> Big Bust
Harris >> Newkirk
Fair >> Truesdale
RBs that left last year did nothing. Hunter >>> than all the guys that left. QB, you missing Sandberg? lol
Harsin definitely needs to get some Olinemen in the portal though.

I’m curious what u guys think are the reasons for Tank wanting to leave?
I know how he acted on the sidelines in the SC game. So was he frustrated how he was used or is it about seeing the immediate future and wanting to play for a team projected to be top 10 and playing for championships?
He got his 1,000 yards. He was used a lot after the SC head scratcher? He could have solidified his legacy as a top AU back
Just wondering…

I think he is going pro after next year. Wouldn't be surprised if he and Harsin talked and could be a mutual decision for Tanks career. There isn't always bad blood in these type decisions. Also will help us with Citizen. Tank isn't a power back. Harsin likes power backs in his O.

This is the more concerning one for me as far as transfers.
Tank was Top 4 in attempts/carries this season. He was a 1,000 yd rusher. He’s very much getting the ball, despite Bobo’s pitiful play calling.. He probably has some attitude in him, but he got the ball a lot this year, and I’m not sure what else he wants.

Maybe a gap to run thru.

FSU would have been more appropriate.

I know this is going to be hard to stomach, but he was EXTREMELY undisciplined as a runner this past season. His head was up his arse, hence why true freshman Hunter would be in the game at pivotal moments and not him. The cherry on top of course being his final run against Alabama.
He is an extremely talented back, but if you actually understand the position, his running this past season was underwhelming to say the least. How many times did he try to bounce outside? On many of those runs, there were yards to be gained if he was patient and ran where he was supposed to.

There is some truth to your points.
I remember more than 1 tv analyst pointing out how Tank was too impatient to look or wait for the holes to open. And the second he didn’t see a big hole he quickly went outside.
I think there were other reasons but we may figure that out only when we see who he picks as his next stop.
I will say I didn’t like his obvious demonstrative dislikes on the sideline.

I dont recall Tank making an explosive play in any major game. It was called back, but Hunter had that 44 yard swing pass in the IB. I don't recall Tank taking over a game.

This is my biggest issue so far with Harsin and/or his staff.
It's obvious to anyone with working eyeballs that the glaring weak spot on this team was OL. And there has been next to nothing done to fix it. Zeirer and Coffee don't do much to solidify the group. I truly believe that's why Tank and Bo are moving on. You cannot run a successful offense with a bad Oline.

He's been playing this same song and dance for two years now. At this point, if he doesn't want to be here, then it's best for everyone that he left.
He spent about half this season (or more) running with such low energy that the speculation was that he was hurt. He may or may not have been. But his patience this past season was non-existent. He's a good back, but I get the impression that he thinks he's put it all together when he clearly hasn't.

Probably. Once Hunter started getting some carries and doing something with them, Tank changed. He came back late in the season and did well in a few games but overall, he seemed to be carrying a chip on his shoulder and did not seem very energetic. Im not sure if that was from his emotions or from the injury

I’m really hoping we replace Will Friend.

Apparently, he's only a good recruiter when he's giving out special happy meals.

Seriously? He wants to be on a team that can win and not have to dodge tacklers in the backfield any time we play a half decent team.
