It seemed like he was the only guy to show up to play some damn football for the Dawgs. Kid played his arse off. Rough game to watch. Anyone else see any positives to take away from this?

He definitely did! I watched the game with a friend from Texas, who has not watched a single UGA game this year. He was surprised by his performance, then when I told him he was a freshman, he thought I was lying..

Bowers was a rockstar.
Mcconkey had that great TD run.
And Pickens had that great catch. Unfortunately he couldn't play for much of the game.

Except when he stopped mid-route when the ball was in the air.

Camarda absolutely owned that game...kid will get drafted

I told you all before the season when I talked to his dad, that Camarda had really been putting in work on the offseason to get the longer hangtimes without losing distance...dude is a beast

He also got most of the targets if I’m not mistaken.

Gotta bet Blaylock, Pickens, Burton in mix.

Boy Burton sure has been a disappointment. Hopefully it is just from him being banged up. Stetson does lock in on certain guys at the expense of other receivers. 2020 Kearis Jackson vs Pickens was a good example. Pickens wasn’t able to do shite until JT came in and started giving him the ball.

Dean and Wyatt played well. Our OL did pretty well. I think Ringo played pretty well, but I would have to go back and look.

James Cook would have played well if he would have gotten the ball.

SBIV has three options - (1) floater to the TE; (2) deep ball with too much air on it, hope the receiver adjusts or a pass interference; (3) run. None of those benefit Burton.

We also need to seriously shorten our WR rotation. Should be riding with 7, 10, 1, and 84 from here on out with very limited exceptions.

Burton didn't really emerge until the Miss St game last year for obvious reasons.

How can a d1 head coach continue to watch this game after game and still think he’s playing the right QB?

Brock Bowers is a certified badass

Best freshman year I can remember any Georgia freshman receiver or tight end having.

Anyone seen any further details on this? He was barely on the field but looked damn healthy on the one grab he had.

Also, there was a play he was in, single coverage up top, got open for 6 and didn't get the ball tossed to him. I don't believe we ended up scoring on that drive.

Poole: 11 TGT’s/9 REC’s, 164 YDS, 2 TD’s, 111 YAC allowed
Cine: 8 TGT/6 REC, 80 YDS, 44 YAC
Ringo: 6 TGT/2 REC, 63 YDS, 1 TD, 5 YAC
Kendrick: 5 TGT/3 REC, 27 YDS, 9 YAC
Tindall: 2 TGT/1 REC, 7 YDS
Walker: 2 TGT/2 REC, 21 YDS, 9 YAC
Jackson: 1 TGT/1 REC, 40 YDS, 6 YAC

I haven't fact checked the numbers, but DawgOutWest is typically pretty accurate on this stuff. I think that if you had told me before the game that these would be the numbers, for everyone other than Poole, I wouldn't have been unhappy with that performance.

This game was decided on the 2nd quarter basically. We gave up 24 points to the Bama offense in 15 minutes. Much like the Oklahoma playoff game, we waited until halftime to make adjustments. I'm not sure what it is about Kirby and our staff, but it's a pretty consistent thing, that we don't make substantial changes often prior to halftime. Unfortunately, that was enough to get us beat in this game.

If we'd given up 10-17 in the 2nd quarter, and only the 10 points to Bama's offense in the second half, that game was about what you expect against a very talented team. Sure we'd love to give up sub 20 every game, but even with the DL not getting the pressure that we needed (anyone else notice JD99 basically getting handled consistently 1:1 and not requiring double teams?) once we adjusted and started sending pressure from somewhere other than up the middle (along with Metchie out), we were able to stifle their effectiveness.

The pick and turnover on downs in redzone + pick 6 truly moved the game out of reach, but ultimately, I don't think we'd have needed to press as hard if we had limited 2Q scoring by at least one less.

The Alabama 3rd quarter opening drive for a TD effectively ended the game.

I remember that play. All Bennett had to do was throw it up towards the pylon and that would have been a td.

Groin injuries linger like a bitch. I'm hoping the staff don't push him too hard the next couple of weeks so he can get healthy. We will need his down field ability.
