In...noticed the occasional lack of effort as well

The "lack of effort" is not exactly an accurate assessment.
Yes, Davis got pulled after his "lack of effort" and it was a while before we put him back in. But do you know how many "great plays" he made all season 2 gapping a blocker and finishing the play when the QB got flushed forward by outside pressure?
Unfortunately, all the rushers were 2 gapping on the same play with no effort to flush the QB. It just takes 1 to start the scramble. If there are 2 or 3 defenders 1 gapping, then the QB has running lanes with no other defender within 20 yards.

When playing a damn good qb, you cant just say do this or do that and make the defense better.

We also have to realize Bama is Saban's team...not any of his assistants'. We have been facing probably the actual GOAT HC, not GOAT tongue and cheek but THE GOAT given the annual coaching carousel of teams poaching his assitants, changes in the game, and recruiting battles--and yet they're annually the team everyone has to beat. He's a master at what he does and he proves it every year.

Also, don't discount his rant defending his players last week from "self-absorbed Bama fans" plus the media disrespect leading up to the SECCG. That may have provided whatever lack of spark they had against AU. Maybe they came into Auburn thinking it would be a cakewalk and got their wake-up call.

We've seen this before where Bama struggles or loses a game and then God help the next opponent...we were that next opponent.

BY came out with a Heisman performance and their OL had a lot to prove and rose to the challenge against a UGA team that could afford 1 loss. We'll see what's next.

Alive. A fan. Just still hurting.

Standing in that building and even getting teased with a 10-0 lead makes it worse. An obvious dawgs country building was ROCKING. Only to come 4th quarter and have a souped up version of Dixieland delight coming on and armies of pom poms that I swear to god hadn’t been there earlier moving in unison like the fricking unsullied army out of GOT.

That one is going to be only be able to be forgotten one way. So. A long way to say alive but shell shocked still

Still the best season we've had since the year I was born. Haven't ever left a game early and I wouldn't start today.

Apparently you are the one who didn't.

UGA thought they could get pressure with 4 most of the night. It wasn't until the 2nd half that we started sending multiple lbr after him and we slowed them down. Too little too late.

We never adjusted until the game was out of hand.

Which was very surprising that we didn’t do that to start the 3rd. Granted they scored pretty quickly but we also came out and rushed 4 again. I still have faith, we need to knock out Michigan and maybe that will get the boys reenergized.

That's not true. We blitzed a lot. What we didn't do was aggressively attack the edge and their tackles wide. Most blitzes were up the middle. We changed that up in the second half some and I think that was effective. That's where Auburn had the most success too. Bit it's wrong to say we didn't blitz in the first half

I budgeted for one of these games each season. I was just hoping I wouldn't need to go to the well for it.

I noticed several delayed blitz calls in the first half. All up the middle as well.

Did not care for those.

Still here. I've given up hope we ever beat Bama with Saban. It may happen but I'm not ever getting my hopes up for it again. Kirby is young and Saban is getting old so there's hope. Good we may have a 2nd shot this year but can't imagine the pressure the players will be under. Most of the Bama team was there last year so they won't feel as much pressure.

He will coach another 10 years. He will be like Bobby Bowden and coach until he is at least 80 before he retires.

Still here. I’ve learned how to accelerate the grieving process over the years thanks to Georgia football.

This whole ridiculous Bama narrative of being the underdog and the disrespect is making me want to jump. Privilege is being a Bama fan and getting an insane amount of respect even when they don’t deserve it. The amount of absolute whining today about being disrespected is idiotic. All of the gumps are coming out of the woodwork…
