Love the small lineup and I think we'll see it more at closing time. Gotta find a way to keep those 3 fresh with our sub patterns during most of the game though. So bottom line, we still either need Flanigan or Cambridge to play better, or give Moore a shot.

What’s sad is you could argue all 3 Williams/ Cambridge/ and Flanigan has regressed

Williams and Cambridge have both had big games this season that arguably their play was the difference between winning and losing.

Flan is struggling but he is still contributing in other ways.

All three look less productive because we literally went out and found 5 guys who do what they do better. I hope Flan's issue is injury related I'm not surprised by Williams and Cambridge disappearing they did that when they were higher options on the tree.

No they look less productive because they are black holes that suck the offense out of our team. Jaylin is probably our best offensive candidate but he has had equally bad play rebounding and defending as well.

Jaylin had decent stretches earlier this year but it seems like he’s been a shell of himself for a couple weeks

Agreed. The three guard look may in fact be what we need to inject offensive potency. Flannigan who is a major liability on the floor should only be used in an emergency moving forward.

We have to find a rotation that keeps Allen Flanigan off the court. I hate saying it, but he’s a complete liability.
We are getting very little from the 3 position between Flanagan and Cambridge. We may need to steal some minutes with Jaylin at the 3 or Jaylin at the 4 and Jabari at the 3. It might help our rebounding woes and get Jabari some open corner 3’s, but would likely hurt on the defensive end. It’s not a long term solution, but could be something you do for a few minutes each half.

Got to start Cambridge at the 3 and see if that helps some as well. Bruce has been trying to force Flanagan into the lineup in hopes he would shake the rust and find his role before tournament time. It just isn’t happening. Time to adjust.

Remember at the beginning of the year when we were already playing well and thinking wait til we get Flannigan back. I feel bad for the kid but his regression is stunning.

I rarely agree with jang, but this is true.

I believe the extra rest will be great for them. The SEC BYE might be just what they need.

Cambridge/ Flanigan

Rebounds: 3.6 // 3.2
Points: 5.8 // 6.3
FG%: 41.4 // 41.4
3pt%: 24.1 // 20
FT% : 67.6 // 66.7
Turnovers :0.8 // 2.2
Assists:0.7 // 1.4

(Stolen from elsewhere) Stats per game

Also, on the road Cambridge is only shooting 10% from 3.
But he was 6-12 from 3 on neutral court this year.

I like giving this idea a shot.

So changing gears with a question... They kept saying last night we clinched our share but am I correct in thinking if we win Saturday we will be outright SEC Champs?

Thanks and WDE!!!

Yes, win Saturday and we won't share it. Lose and it'll be us, Ark/Tenn winner and UK if they beat FL.

Cambridge is an animal on the offensive boards when he’s on his game and if that’s the role, then let that be his contribution. Both he and Flan have terrible shooting form so I’m not surprised they don’t contribute much from outside. Slash and rebound is where they can contribute.

He does help in that category. There was a moment last night where an offensive board bounced right to where Flanagan has been standing. Just taking one step toward the boards would have resulted in an easy offensive board. Instead he watched the shot and started jogging back on D. Pearl was beside himself on the sideline.

The answer is simple, when we start getting in our funks, especially if rebounding continues to be an issue, put Strtech in.

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like Bruce finally saw enough wide open missed threes from the 3. Might have to tweak the rotation a little to get them somewhat fresh then but it’s also late in the year and aren’t asking them to keep it up for 20 games.

No, I think it was poor dribbling and decision making from Flanigan, and poor shooting ofc from Cambridge except for that 1, " wow I made a 3, let me jack up 2 more to see if i am hot"....NOT.

I remember late in regulation I think Jabari was outside and looking for his shot, and for some reason he passed it to a wide open Cambridge (who I think they knew not to guard too much), and I'm yelling at the screen..."NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO". And ofc he missed it.
