I know we are still enduring LSU fans wallering in their own self pity, but the point stands. The SEC still is the most dominant conference in FBS this year.

I attribute the perception of SEC "demise" to media talking heads who are preaching their own desires more than they are reporting accuracy. They have gotten on their knees for the B1G and PAC12 this year. Take a look at the AP poll.

The fact of the matter is: the PAC12 is still the PAC12, the B1G is still OSU/Michigan, and the SEC is still the best.
Don't fall for Yankee propaganda SEC brethren

I don’t think anyone thinks the SEC is “bad” but I mean it’s a down year plain and simple.

There is more competition than I've seen in the past. The last few years have been Georgia is going to win the East and Bama is going to win the West. Now we have no idea who is going to win either side. It's probably going to be Georgia in the East, but the West is ripe for the taking.

The quality of football seems to be declining in the NIL era.

I don’t think the SEC is down per se..
there is only one big difference that I can see:

There isn’t one or two top dogs that can destroy anybody and everybody in their path.

2019 LSU
2022 Georgia
A lot of Alabama teams
2010 Auburn

There just isn’t one dominant team.

If you dropped any of those dominant teams into the conference, I think you would be looking at it a little bit different.

Georgia 5-0 #1
Missouri 5-0
Kentucky 5-0

2019 LSU 3-0 Top 5
Alabama 2-0
A&M 2-0

Just my two cents.

Don’t even listen to the media. When Bama is good the conference is just held up by one team and the other conferences are good because they beat each other up. When the SEC beats each other we’re bad because we have no dominant teams. Pay the media no mind.

I think for the most part we’re focusing on a handful of games in which almost every favorite won. And I think it’s mostly fans talking about it. As we all know, it will ultimately sort itself out anyway.

Tennessee beat a conference opponent by 3 touchdowns and dropped in the AP poll. A bunch of coastal idiots that should have their credentials taken.

To Florida, LSU and some others but Mizzou is much improved because of NIL!

The SEC is down for the second consecutive season. QB play is dismal in the SEC, many SEC defenses simply aren't good, and many of our teams have been handled in out of conference games.

I looked at that and wondered if Florida’s loss figured in to that.

Who above them should they be ranked in front of? Undefeated teams? Nope

1 Loss teams?
#10 Notre Dame (lost to #4, beat Duke)
#11 Alabama (lost to #3, beat Ole Miss)
#15 Oregon State (lost to #13, beat Utah)
#16 Ole Miss (lost to #11, beat LSU)
#18 Utah (lost to #16, beat Florida, UCLA)
#19 Duke (lost to #10, beat Clemson)
#22 Tennessee (lost to Florida)

Moved Ahead
1) Kentucky 5-0
2) Missouri 5-0

Moved Below
3) LSU 3-2

That all makes good sense to me.

eta: truth be told, A&M should be ranked ahead of both Tennessee and LSU. They lost to an undefeated ranked #17.

The SEC is down. Some of the defense’s are trying to figure out all the different types of offenses with elite players coming into the conference. But lack of elite QB play will plaque the conference this year in big games.

I’m not sure anyone goes without a loss and maybe the first time ever we don’t get a playoff team in

This is because Georgia and Bama are down not because the rest of the league suddenly caught up to them. The league is down.
Big time.

All the conferences are not very good. There isn't a single elite team in CFB. Absolute dog shite product

Disagree, Alabama, LSU and aTm all took big losses to schools who 3 yrs ago we would have beat the piss out of.

This would have purchase if the SEC hadn’t lost a majority of their significant OOC matchups.

It’s all about maximizing clicks. They know at the end of the season the SEC will be there. They just want to generate clicks.
