Everyone one here was so thrilled thinking the Big Ten had such a better TV Contract when in reality it was a dumpster fire

Recently, schools have found out:
They are going to have to pay back nearly $40 million to Fox because, according to sources, Warren delivered NBC the Big Ten football title game in 2026 without the full authority to do so. This all has unfolded under the complicated backdrop of the Big Ten conference not actually controlling the rights to the inventory of this latest deal -- the Big Ten Network does, which is majority owned by Fox.

They are going to have to pay $25 million total for a deal to pay Fox back for lost 2020 football game inventory. This came after an arrangement between Fox and the conference that was unable to muster the lost revenue from the COVID-19 season.

There's tens of millions of dollars of value of the NBC primetime deal in flux, as Petitti has been racing to ensure it keeps as much of its original value as possible

They are in the L.A. market now, 65+ million is a drop in the bucket for the almighty Big-10

We should swap Missouri for Nebraska and tell the B1G that we’ll pay off their debt to Fox to make it happen.
Bring back the Oklahoma vs Nebraska game.
And yes, I’m sure y’all don’t want Nebraska either. Fine, just offer Missouri and $40 million and call it even.

So..
A deal worth about a billion annually..
and they're trying to make it seem like a big deal that they have a one time payment of about $65 million?

So we write you a check for $65 million and you will write each of us a check for $65 million? Where do I sign?

If you give me a billion dollars a year for 7 years for every single $65 million check I write, I'll write fricking checks til my arm falls off.
You guys have got to stop being so shitty with math. If you understand math you won't be lied to so much.

Woke equity based hiring decisions have consequences, congrats cocksuckers.. your boy Warren is embarrassingly underqualified.

Haven’t played a down of SEC football and Texas fans are already plotting their house wrecking.

lol I was just poking the bear.. you guys make yourself an easy target
I do think some big changes are coming.. not sure what they are or if any of us will like them, but I think the B1G and SEC will break away and it will all be one big league of 40-50 teams sharing money equally.
You will be in the cool kids group. If you weren’t, I wouldn’t be joking about it. I do wonder if some of the smaller private schools might not be included however. Teams like Northwestern. Great school. But when forced to choose between Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Northwestern, some hard decisions might have to be made.
I’m glad that isn’t my job.. but yes, Texas will take all of the blame for it. Guaranteed.

The bigger story is Disney/ESPN is getting crushed financially right now.
Any talk of B10/SEC expansion is contingent on ESPN continuing to shell out huge deals to keep things rolling and that’s not at all a foregone conclusion at the moment.

So much for all of that "Kevin Warren is a ninja" crap. The guy was plainly in over his head.
He did shiv both George Kliavkoff and Jim Phillips, who were both equally in over their heads as well. Kliavkoff still doesn't have a TV deal in place for the PAC 12, which is hovering on the brink.

Really makes me question how valuable Oregon/Washington are (especially as potential Big Ten acquisitions), let alone the other schools in the conference or potential newcomers like SDSU and SMU, when the Conference of Champions is attempting negotiations with Apple TV+ and The CW.
