65million doesn't mean much in the scheme of things

The issue is being 95 days from kickoff and still negotiating tens of millions of dollars with NBC over your bigger brands not wanting night games.

Fox being so big a factor is also interesting. ESPN has its rep for being Grimes, they don't have near the puppetmaster type control that Fox seems to have

They are going to have to pay back nearly $40 million to Fox because, according to sources, Warren delivered NBC the Big Ten football title game in 2026 without the full authority to do so

How in the hell can this happen? That's unforgivable and I'm doubting if it's true.

Really makes me question how valuable Oregon/Washington are (especially as potential Big Ten acquisitions), let alone the other schools in the conference or potential newcomers like SDSU and SMU, when the Conference of Champions is attempting negotiations with Apple TV+ and The CW.

I think the Big 10 went to Fox and said "show me the money" and Fox showed them a 0.

They certainly aren’t massive values like Texas or USC, but I do think they have more value than the Pac 12 negotiations make it seem. The pac 12’s problem is they have no one appealing for Oregon and Washington to play. No one wants to see Oregon v Cal but an Oregon v Ohio St game would draw very well.

I agree with this. I think that Oregon and Washington are both undervalued right now because of their time slot and matchups.

Washington or Oregon vs Texas, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, etc would all get pretty good ratings imo. The B1G is making a mistake if they don’t add them.

This is the same clown that wanted to cancel the 2020 season. Sankey said, not us.

These guys got outmaneuvered by Brett Yormark and the Big 12. By going early, the Big 12 cut the line. The PAC 12 is now waiting in line behind a bunch of other potential deals that networks are considering, such as the NBA, UFC, NHL, etc.

It was a brilliant move by Yormark. It's valuable lesson in not waiting around if you're not the Big 10 or the SEC.

ESPN and Fox own the SEC and Big Ten rights, respectively. The difference here is that Fox was interested in sublicensing part of this inventory, whereas ESPN is not. That has more to do with how many platforms the two networks have, and what other rights they have under contract, than it does with Fox being a team player. Warren basically was given an inch by Fox, and then tried to take a mile.
