California is 4th.. behind the United States, China and Japan.
California's GDP per capita would have been 6th, behind Luxembourg, Macao, Switzerland Norway, and Iceland.
That was in 2018. Latest measurements would put it at 2nd although I don't have access to the latest real gdp numbers from those countries.
California ranks 4th in the United States in real GDP per capita. It ranks 5th in nominal gdp per capita.
For the curious.. Texas ranks 14th in nominal GDP per capita and Florida ranks 36th.
Texas is the only SEC state ranked in the top 25 in states although Georgia comes in at 26th. The SEC has 4 of the bottom 5, with the only non-sec state being West Virginia. (in order from highest to lowest in the bottom 5 are South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi.)

I say that all of the SEC states should form a new nation and make Trump the President. I think Biden might shite himself.
Football related because we could then have the B1G Champion vs SEC Champion to crown the World Champion of College Football.. or we could just ignore the rest of those asshats.
First order of business;
1) Fire the NCAA. They can go play with the B1G.
2) Setup a 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier SEC league and put relegation rules in place.
3) Build a Mike Leach statue. He will be missed.
That’s a good start.
