Neither of them were great recruiters. They were on Harsin’s staff but that’s like being the tallest midget.

I haven’t seen what you are. I think it’s been discussed and there is no real info that is reliable enough to have a real discussion. I have seen plenty, including myself having issues with the rumors and the limited info trickling out.
Everyone is hoping this doesn’t spread out further and cause major problems. So I think your assertion that everyone thinks it’s normal is inaccurate at best. What you may be seeing is posters hope it is more normal than damaging.

Perry Thompson ain't here because of the RB coach, my guy.
Cadillac was a very very average recruiter. Take take O&B glasses off. We signed an elite HS class this year and he he brought in 0 at his position.

^ meta is right. Caddy was a lazy recruiter compared to the rest of the staff. Coasted of his reputation and didn’t put the same kind of work in the new guys did.

And that’s fine now that HCs in the state know Auburn exists again. He absolutely had to completely pour himself into recruiting this year because so many bridges had been burned. The staff has fixed 99% of them.

Which makes sense he is now bringing in better recruiters. He can’t carry the load alone as he did last cycle.

I’ve been waiting my whole life as an Auburn fan to have HC that actually gave a crap about recruiting. I’m sure Dye did, but I was too young to remember.

Chizik and Malzahn both had phenomenal classes their first full cycle. HF definitely has taken it on more himself than those two did but I wonder how sustainable that is. These hires are very important.

Davis, Garrett, Kelly, Freeze
Apparently, Aldridge is a very good recruiter too. I've seen his name brought up by recruits a lot since he got to Auburn. Just look at the LBer class we just got.

This staff should not lack recruiters if it fills out the way many are expecting

The same coaches we depended on for our 2024 class + whatever ace recruiters Freeze is about to hire.

I think he will be more comfortable delegating though. At times last season, seemed like Hugh didn’t trust a bunch of folks on staff and had to put in extra effort to pick up some of the slack.
