In the words of Stone Cold: "hell yeah!"

Yes.
I want a proven head coach. Even if he’s our Richt for 5-10 years. The problem is all established coaches aren’t leaving their current programs, e.g. Franklin, Meyer, Saban, Dabo, Gundy, Kelly, etc.
So you’re left taking a chance on a coordinator or finding the next home run hire, e.g. Clark, Brohm, etc.
Auburn can’t afford another short-term hire like Chizik or an average up and comer like people thought about Gus.
Give me someone who can give us 5-10 years of stability and be competitive against Saban until we get through the Saban reign and can hire another proven head coach.

Absolutely, without question. Fire the jet up and go get him tomorrow.

The obvious answer is yea...I'd be ok if they hired Stoops and he kept Gus as OC. The program needs a leader of men more than anything. It needs the proper structure it takes to be successful. The greatest flaw in leadership is micro management and that has been Gus' downfall.

Is Gustav about to get the 2018 Jetgate treatment?? :-)

That would be a no for me.
Big game Bob was a good coach but I worry about the defense. If they can assure Kevin Steele stays, then maybe I'd consider it, but if not then I'm out.

Nope. He couldn't possibly add stability at his age. Everyone bitches about our free agent QBs. This would be more of the same. 2-3 years later we would be in the same situation again.

So you would pass on Dabo and Bob Stoops for Bill Clark? Hahahahaahahhaha. Thank God you don't get to make the decisions.

The same age Saban was when he took over Bama?

I can't think of anyone better that's realistic. Stoops health concerns me, though. He looked bloated and out of shape his last year at OU. Maybe the couple years off has helped him recoop.
I figure it's just a matter of time before someone picks him up, so it might as well be us. I've said before I want a proven HC and Stoops fits the bill.

Yes, if it were even remotely possible.
But it isn't.
I've been wrong about these things before, but I just don't see any way in hell this will happen.

Why not? I think Stoops will coach again, and if so, it might as well be for AU. I think he just got stale at OU and wanted time off. It happens.

Stoops is 9 years younger than Saban.

Yes, I don't see Stoops staying long enough to have a positive impact and I've always been against dabo in everything he does, I could not support the program with him in charge.
All of this is pointless, Gus ain't going anywhere this year.

Why? Auburn has never been a stepping stone program?
