Nope.

Stoops is even older than when he retired...for reasons that aren't entirely clear. Health? Wanting more family time? The reasons were amorphous, regardless.

I understand Urban Meyer has done well at OSU coming out of retirement, but how often does that happen?

Auburn needs to be thinking 5-7 years down the road. If they hire Bob Stoops -- and I hope they don't -- they damn sure don't need to give him a Jimbo-type contract that will be hard to get out of.

Yes. I think a stoops hire would be similar to Les and Brown hires. Come in and stabilize and grow the program to be ready to hand off for somebody else and that person maybe on staff as OC or DC ready to potentially just move on.

Id take stoops in a heartbeat.

As long as he doesn’t hire his brother to run the defense

Is the choice only between Gus or Stoops?

OK.

Welcome to Auburn, Bob.
