I will be happy with either Gatewood or Nix.

Why you take away anything from A Day I’ll never know.

If it was ever 1’s vs 1’s I would take it serious.

My take is that Malik did the best simply because he was playing the 1s with the 2s. 1s on O vs 2s on D tells me nothing.

Probably shouldn’t then either. You are seeing the base offense and defense. You are limited on playcalling because of the non-contact jersey and the defense can’t blitz.

A-day is show for the fans and an opportunity for the scout team to play in front of a crowd.

No blitzes but the OL and RBs would get murdered by the coaches if they cut blocked the DL too.

I thought I saw several simple blitzes by the LBs. Which would make since improving the OL and their ability to pick up extra rusher

Nix will be the starter, Gatewood moves to TE, Mailk to WR and that old guy will be the backup.

This is just dumb. Even if Gatewood didn't win the #1 slot -- and I don't think that is the case -- you don't move your #2 QB to any position, much less tight end. Case in point: how many snaps did Tua play at an alternate position while he was waiting in the wings?

This is all moot anyway. It's Gatewood then Nix. Might need both of them to get 15-0.

This is an Auburn Legacy and you want to start Gatewood?

Give me the kid who has been living and breathing Auburn football his entire life and who happens to be one of the best high school QB prospects to ever sign with Auburn University.

Seriously, it's not like Gus's offense is that hard. We've been blasting its simplicity for years now. He's accurate, has touch on the deep ball, and is faster than Stidham. He has a solid crop of WR talent to work with, an improved OL , a solid group of RBs and a legit defense

15-0 Ship

Everyone else.... didn't.

while factually correct, it diminishes our 2017 season where we came up short the SECCG.....with Stidham

Yea, Auburn didn’t win. That’s why it was diminished.

I think the records will speak for themselves.

I don’t have the stat handy, but can we compare Auburn’s W/L record with a dual threat vs a pocket passer under Gus Malzahn’s offense?

Cam Newton (dual)
Chris Todd (pocket)
Barrett Trotter (pocket)
Clint Moseley (pocket)
Nick Marshall (dual)
Sean White (pocket)
Jeremy Johnson (pocket)
Jarrett Stidham (pocket)

And I’m talking “true” dual threat here. Surely we won’t have a disconnect on who is what.

Give me the kid who has been committed to Auburn since 9th grade, and was also one of the best high school QB prospects to ever sign with Auburn University.

Gatewood has the running ability to demoralize defenses and an arm coming to his own.

Nix has the ability to run Gus’s passing offense well but thing is nobody is scared of Gus’s passing offense.
