Just a quick rundown mine:

Gatewood: That boy is big. He is every bit as big as Cam Newton. Not quite as fast as i had hoped, but he did look like a tough person to tackle. His throwing motion isn't fluid and looks like he is short arming the ball, which can be fine for short to mid range passes, but not passes over 20 yards.

Bo Nix: Most natural passer out of the group. Moves well, has a surprising burst and really released the ball well. His touch on the deep and intermediary routes were impressive.

Malik - There were positives, but just no. I cant unsee what i've seen

Cord - Soon to be off the field analyst

So Gatewood is big, Nix throws well, Willis is “just no”, and Sandberg is a clipboard holder. Good stuff here, Chex

frick if I know on the QBs

I think Nix should be the guy. He’s not that far behind Gatewood, despite that he should be in high school right now. I’d guess Gatewood starts against Oregon.

But it’s Gus so it’ll probably be Willis

I had a huge post on the other thread. Just mentally transfer it here. I do think the top two played well enough in the first half that it would be hard to take them off the field.

Nix is the future for sure. He did throw an ill advised INT in the spring game but I like his aggressiveness. Still I'd prefer to easy him into the job. If Gatewood can command the offense and make the throws then give him the keys. Let Nix play as much as possible in packages or clean up duty.

Gatewood brings the threat of the jet sweep back, because of his power running up the middle. He'll also make people pay for trying to blitz, and WRs should have plenty of time to get open.

Nix will be ready to go in 2 years, and we'll go back to the Stidham type offense. But Nix will take it to another level.

Willis...he'll play well against the smaller schools in mop up duty. Otherwise, we won't see him.

Sandburg, see Willis

Jesus. When will y’all ever learn? The A-Day game means nothing. Zip. Nada. There are no takeaways.

Gatewood will be the starter.

Nix is the best passer, true...

But who gives you the best pass/run option and can take the offense from good to possibly explosive.

Cam Newton won championships.
Nick Marshall won championships.
Everyone else.... didn't.

That beats the shite out of the alternatives I was worried about.

I think Nix is the future, but hope he gets this year to develop. That being said, he looked really good for a true freshman, so if he was made the starter, I would not be upset.

I’m feeling positive but wait and see approach.

I think Gatewood and Nix showed separation from the others.

I was more impressed with some of the WR’s to be honest.

I feel more positive about the OL then I did last year at this time.

I’m encouraged by what I saw so far and look for more improvements in the fall. I am convinced if we call plays like the bowl game offensively, we are going to put up a lot of points and yards.

I haven't been as high on Gatewood as most but he did look comfortable Saturday. Both QBs look capable, Nix can sling it but if Gatewood is a bulldozer in the qb run game it's going to be hard not to start him.

I need to rewatch but first impressions

Gatewood: MUCH better this go around than last A-Day. Thought he forced some later to McClain (had Hill wide open for a TD one drive) but overall he looked competent in the pocket. Obviously not being able to show his ability as a power runner handicaps him a bit but overall was happy with what I saw

Nix: Thought he was the best QB on the field Saturday but a lot of that again has to do with Gatewood unable to show off power running. Nix is A LOT quicker than I expected and seems at his best when play breaks down. Did have a really bad decision that was picked off but other than that he was awesome

Willis: LOVED his first drive. Made all the right reads and was accurate with the ball. His work in the pocket on that deep ball TD was beautiful. Still think Gatewood/Nix out performed him but was glad to see him play better

Sandberg: Pretty clear he's not actually an option. But even he looked solid. Was nice to have four competent QBs on the field even in a glorified scrimmage. Last year we had 0....

Offense overall executed at a better level Saturday which was nice to see. I think Dillingham has had a positive impact on the QB room. We won't really know though until see this team in the fall & how the OL holds up. I'm cautiously optimistic but given the schedule & having a freshman starting QB gonna just hope for the best for now

This.

The dual threat, elite athlete at QB wins for Gus Malzahn.

Bo Nix looked very much like a dual threat QB with better touch on his throws and better accuracy down the field.

Too early to tell. If I had to guess right now, Gatewood. Size and more experience in the system.

All looked good throwing the ball but there was not risk.
