If there is one thing for certain, Oregon coaches will hate preparing to play against both QBs. Gus isn’t going to let that opportunity go away.

Gus will announce the QB depth chart in a few days according to his interview on PF this week. This is my opinion what it will be. It will not be this in the fall or against Oregon but it will be the depth chart when it first comes out
1 - Malik Willis
2 - Joey Gatewood
3 - Bo Nix
4 - Cord Sandburg
It will change this fall but this will be the first depth chart

I don’t see that happening.
1. Joey Gatewood
2a/2b Bo Nix and Malik Willis
3. Sandburg

I think we will end up using both and it will play to our advantage because coaches dont know who to prepare against

I wouldnt even melt. Honestly he looks like #3 on the depth chart but he also looks 100% better than he did last season. I'd take how he looks now over Stidham. IDK what some of yall are looking at though. Gatewood doesnt have an arm? Youre high. Nix cant run? Youre really high. All 3 of these guys looked capable but Gatewood and Nix are both dual threat monsters.

I never said those things. Gatewood has plenty of arm and Nix can run fine. I think you are mixing me up with some other guy
Im just saying this will be the depth chart when it is released this week. And I dont think Malik will be the starter against Oregon.
Personally, Id like to see
Gatewood
Willis
Nix
Sandburg buying the beer and bringing the chicks
But I honestly believe Gus will reward Malik with the 1 position based on his time and loyalty along with not really showing his hand this early in the season. Plus Malik has improved and this will inspire them all to not get comfortable.

I would be surprised if Malik is on the team in the fall. It seemed clear that Gatewood and Nix are battling it out for first.
I hope Malik hangs around and pushes the other guys.

Look Patrick Nix, your Son is good and will be great....Gatewood is better suited for what makes Gus great...he will have his time in 2 years.

I never said you did. I responded to your depth chart comment. The rest of my post was a continuation of the thread responding to several people who ARE saying those things. Dont be so defensive.

My take is Nix looked really good when the play broke down and could make some beautiful passes on the run, he's light years better than Stidham when the play breaks down. As for Gatewood he looks really good also and I think he fits the system better and think he will be the starter but don't be surprised if Nix beats him out next year if he doesn't beat him out this year.

And if my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle. The only deep routes I saw that he missed in the A day game were overthrows because of the receivers slowing up. Give up this bs that Gatewood doesnt have the arm, dudes got a cannon.

Exactly. Those were beautiful passes. McClain just played like crap. If Swain was there, or it was Seth Williams, those are touchdowns.
