Found this on 247 back from 2017 when Lashlee left for Uconn
"Right now Chip Lindsey is the leader in the clubhouse. Jake Spavital & Eliah Drinkwitz are also on the list to be the next OC"

More than 3 against bottom feeder Kentucky would be sweet as well.

Bad news is, it's an air raid offense.
I just did some quick searching and he runs a lot of Storm concepts in the pass game. Also sometimes referred to as GOD (Getting Open Deep) offense which is badass. Lots of 9 routes, deep posts, deep option routes, etc. And from what I understand, it pretty much cuts the field in half, but that is a feature to try and attack the defense by overloading one side and creating a mismatch.

Is Auburn built for that? Besides a new OL, what would we need to change?
Not currently. It needs good protection, NFL WRs, and an accurate QB.
Wo we have 1 of the 3 components right now with the WRs.

I hope he knows about a quick passing game as well. Having a good OL is never a certainty. Former powerhouses often come undone there. See FSU and Texas

Yeah, im not a fan of it. It may work on the Big12/Pac12 defenses, but in the SEC/B1G, at a certain point you have to be able to slow down, chew some clock and salt away a game that you're winning by 9 pts.
Baylor lit us up for a bunch of yards, but I never felt that game was in doubt because of how well we ran the ball, they just didn't have time to get the ball back and score enough to pass us once we got up more than a TD in the 4th.

That was more a function of their defense being trash. Last year Baylor was a decent run offense this year they’ve been dreadful.

He was also Cal's OC in 2023 and their offense was awful that game. I wouldn't be against him by any means, he has had a lot of good production everywhere he has gone and conept wise, he definitely has a more diverse run game and uses it more than your typical air raid offense. They pass it more per game but Baylor isn't terribly unbalanced this year, so that part of things I'm not too worried about with him.

They do average more per game on the ground than Texas, Florida, Bama, and LSU. They are about 20 yards per game less than us on about 5 carries less and .5 ypc less. Not saying they've been great, but more just middle of the road. The rushing TD's would be the bigger concern, but when you have Sawyer Robertson and Trigg, redzone TD's in the passing game are a little easier to come by.
But last year, yea they were much better. That level, we can definitely roll with.

Brother. You can't make this proclamation then give yourself an out with TBD. Own it if you type it.

Yeah, even in 23 with Cal when he had a down year by his standards (48th in scoring offense), he still had Ott rushing for 1300 yards and 12 TDs. I'd be a little iffy on an air raid style offense, but he still runs the ball and almost always has a top 30ish scoring offense.
He'd be head and shoulders over Neal Brown, who would be turrible.

WEP’s Top 5 Coaching Candidates - Wednesday 11/19/2025:

I think this is a lock for who gets it and who we looked at. No need for any further lists. Enjoy!

I would much rather see Auburn get back to a run heavy offense and ball control. We have had our best success under that offense over the years.
We are no air raid team.

if Ole Kiff jumps ship, it may be a moot point

I agree. I have never been a fan of finesse pass happy O's. It will win you games. It is hard to win championships with. Physicality will always prevail in football.
