This is the singular point of 2025 that killed Auburn. We always found ways to lose and that's why Durkin's results were no different. How our defense gave up 4th and 1 on a QB scramble despite blowing up the play in the backfield to a stumbling, bumbling QB I have no clue but we found a way!

Durkin might be great complement to a high scoring offense but he had serious problems getting off the field in clutch time. 4th and 1? 1.5 yard gain. 3rd and 10? How about 11.

In reality I would probably wear 2 watches as well with what G-Shock is most likely paying Cam.

Don’t forget about 4th and goal, leave the middle of the end zone wide open. You never do that. You play from middle out. Make the QB have to throw a hard pass over the outside of the defense, not an easy dump over the middle.

Drops and fumbles won’t cut it.

No hobbies.

Highest paid player on the team, failed at crunch time.

He’s Uber talented, but he has not really shown consistency.
He’s made some great catches, but he’s also flubbed some things.

Will he leave? I’m sure he will get offers from everyone.

Will he stay? I hope so, but if he does not want to be here then I wish him well.

I want Auburn to be the most nard nosed, physical, disciplined team on the field.

I want teams to be intimidated when they have to play us because they know we’re gonna hit them for 60 minutes.

I want them to do the little things right. Every play. Every time. Everyone doing their job to the fullest on every down, regardless of what that job is. If we do this, the big things will take care of themselves.

The TD bama scored to make it 17-0, Auburn originally had 12 guys and had to call time out. Went back out with only 10 after the timeout. Frustrating.

A “4th quarter culture.”

The Iron Bowl was absolutely ours for the taking. We had those bastards on the ropes. We had all the momentum, finally we had the depth to match them, they were banged up. And we lost solely because we lack a 4th quarter culture.

And it’s not just our offense, it’s defense too. We have talked ad nauseam about how many times the offense has had the ball with a chance to tie/take the lead late in games and couldn’t get it done, but what about all the times the defense has had a chance to finish off a game with just one stop? No way in hell should bama have been able to stumble down the field for 8 minutes and score.

Then it was our offense’s turn, we drive down the field, get the ball in our best player’s hands near the red zone, he fumbles when all he needs to do is fall out of bounds, game over.

But our 4th quarter failures have been team failures, not just offense. And it’s due to completely lacking that 4th quarter culture.

That’s one of those things that’s impossible to define but you all know what I’m talking about.

Eh, I believe it was Fegans guarding the guy and he honestly just got beat. Not disagreeing with what you are saying, but he was manned up and just got beat (whoever the DB was). I think we were a man down that play due to the injury/timeout issue Durkin mentioned, which maybe would have been someone shading inside in the formation or something, not sure.

USF ranked pretty bad in penalties last two years.

Tied for 88th this year. Hope they get this improved. Still better than Auburn tied for 128th.

Crap, they lost a bunch of fumbles last year. They were better in picks thrown than Auburn.

The linebackers immediately cleared the middle of the field. They have to play middle out. That didn’t happen. Also, if they were in man, you have to switch when you see a bunch set like uat lined up in knowing full well that the WRs are about to do crossings.

1. O-line ... we're dead last in the SEC in Sacks Allowed .... and where are our Tight Ends?

2. Special Teams

3. A quarterback that doesn't consistently telegraph his passes

Im not sure how everyone else feels, but I would imagine Auburn incorporating the forward pass into our playbook could be fun

I'm ready to get our JHS mojo back. Teams used to fear playing there. We have absolutely no home field advantage anymore.
