We get a comfortable lead and put it on cruise control, play a lot of young guys. Those young guys give up a score to Akron late.

38-7. I think we go really vanilla on O and D and pull the starters pretty early. I think Bo makes a mistake that costs us a TD but otherwise has a solid game to get the jitters out.

As much as I'd like to see your prediction, I went back and looked at Boise's 2019 and 2020 results. They did not beat anyone by the spread we currently have for Saturday. Then again, Boise's talent was probably much closer to all of their opponents than Auburn's against Akron.

Going all the way back to 2018, Boise did not blank a single opponent. I can see Harsin getting up big, and start subbing down to the 3rd string.

This.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Akron took advantage of early miscues and scored first.

A shutout or >40 point blowout seems highly unlikely, no matter how bad Akron may be. I just want us to win, not have any significant injuries, and show improvement the following week against ASU.

Akron was abysmal last year. Even if we keep it vanilla, we should cover.

I'll go 45-6.

I don’t think Hars will open up the playbook entirely , but we don’t have the luxury of just running a super simple, vanilla game plan. We need to work out offense in a game plan similar to what we’d do with a legit opponent. WRs need the work catching balls.

So I foresee a flurry of scoring early and then we rotate in a lot of guys second half so I’ll say 45-3.

FIFY, and as it should if that happened. Probably would be one of the biggest upsets of all time.

247 couldn’t find an Akron reporter (or any reporter that covers Akron as a side hustle) to thoroughly interview about the program. Sounds like they’ve had such bad Covid issues that they’re not sure what the depth chart looks like. One local journalist called the program and coach a joke.

Anyway. Happy Friday, y’all

So we are allowed to meltdown if the score is close at halftime?
