1) Shed Jackson isn’t SEC caliber. Maybe he can block, but he can’t catch and he’s severely limited when it comes to athleticism. He was terrible tonight.

2) The defense can’t play that much zone. Penn State picked us apart all game long, and it happened even when we brought the heat to the passer.

3) Offensive play calling has to get better. More rushing, more play action, less putting the team on the back of the QB. Bo Nix can’t carry this team, but he can drive the bus.

4) Mike Bobo has to feature Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter. That 4th and 2 (where we threw some dogshit fade in the back of the end zone) should have gone to the best RB in the country.

5) That penalty on Zakoby McClain was complete dogshit and I’ll argue with someone to the death. In fact, the calls tonight were terrible for both teams. Just bad all around.

6) Kobe Hudson, outside of that ridiculous trick play following halftime, looked good. Outside of him, I just didn’t see much at WR. Demetrius Robertson is good at some stuff, but not the complete package. We should be recruiting the hell out of that position in this class and it looks like we are.

7) I didn’t think the OL played all that bad. I expected worse, TBH.

Good and fair observation and I won’t argue any of it.

Agree on all points. It's strange but other than Tank and Hunter, the OL was the best position on the field tonight.

Great observations. I’m just pissed at how Auburn lost, they could have easily won that. How many play actions did they run from under center?

Or did Bo throw it too soon and to the wrong guy? Robertson and Tank looked open

If you, me, and thousands of other average fans can see this DURING THE GAME, why can't our highly paid DC?

I could not disagree more. This loss falls squarely on Mason's and Smoke's feet. Mason didn't make adjustments the entire game. Smoke bit on every damn thing they threw at him.

ETA Don't get me wrong....Bobo called a shite game too. That 4th down play will baffle me until the day I die.

Wut? You talking about the 4th down call? There's no read on that. It's a fade. It's a timing route.

It was an absolute dogshit call.

Harsin said in the post-game presser there are 4 or 5 options to that play. Not entirely sure what that involves, but I think the implication was it wasn't a one-read play.

Was a holding call called all night on either OL? Was strangely clean there.

Close to 75% completion percentage given up so far through 3 games.

Also, who the frick taught Bo to throw the ball 50 yards up in the air on any throw over 25 yards? That was absolutely mind boggling seeing him just put it up for grabs.

According to Harsin it wasn’t a one route play, but you are correct that the read that Bo went with is a pre-snap read. Still don’t like the play.

It’s always win as a team, lose a team. In the Gus regime everybody always wanted to point fingers, but even then it holds true that both sides of the football could’ve and should’ve done more.

Offensively- it’s hard to win any competitive game when you only score 20 points. The blueprint was literally there. OL and RBs playing well and receivers lacking. Run the ball. It was that simple. We also turned the ball over as well. Once via fumble, once via turnover on downs.

Defense- Could not pressure the QB until 2 minutes left into the game. Their QB probably had one incompletion the whole second half. Ridiculous. Defense also couldn’t get off the field when we had their defense on the ropes. Lastly we could not turn the opponent over except for one controversial turnover on downs and a meaningless interception on a hail mary attempt to end the first half.

Both sides had good aspects and bad aspects. I’d grade the defense a C, and offense a C+ and that’s being generous.
