Because you’re in FG range and don’t want to force a throw. You also want to take up as much time as possible or force Mizzou to use a timeout.

Jang doesn't care about anything but trolling, it's not about logic or reason. That's the reason he's riding this defend Thorne at all costs train when everyone is anti-thorne, it gives him more chances to troll people. But even for him, this is a dumb schtick.
