Yep,
I think those that can't stand JJ, and any of his hires, (i.e. Pearl), are simply throwing stuff out there, that once JJ has no more clout, the PTB will start cleaning JJ's fingerprints.
If Pearl has nothing to do with the FBI or NCAA issues with the 2 players involved, then he is safe for now, IMO.

I like Pearl a lot. But he has been very underwhelming for the expectations brought by his reputation when hired.

I have to agree with Brannigan here. I have no seen any improvement in the basketball program since he got here.

We had our first winning season in almost ten years last year, and that was with letting several games slip away.
It may not be the improvement we expected, but there has certainly be improvement.
