Someone signed off on an approximate $30 nil for those that are on the field at Auburn right now… The majority of those players are obviously not SEC caliber. The ones signing the checks are not going to entertain throwing money down the drain.

With Xavier’s dismissal, there is not an SEC caliber player on the field for Auburn. That is just the unfortunate truth. If $30 million isn’t enough, we will have to spend $60 million. Or (now hear me out) do a better job of evaluating players. Or (now really hear me out)…BOTH.

Any way you cut it, the only way out of these bad lands is through a much better roster.

Golesh has a lot of work to do in the offseason. Lots and lots of work.

That uga game must have been a glitch in the Matrix.

If Golesh is not sporting mostly grey hair by the Notre Dame game then we will know he didn't put in the work and things are not going to be any better.

We won the one game in 10 that we ever could have won. I can't help but think we caught them flat-footed after a hard game with the updykes and we still barely held on. I'm stoked we got that win, but it will be very much a bug rather than feature where this season is concerned.

Rearranging deck chairs, but I’ll bite. Ok, Melendez will be in the NFL someday. So too McPherson. That leaves us about 40 players shy of being able to compete consistently in the SEC. My point remains unbloodied - we need a roster upgrade across the board.

Nimrod and Singleton are in the top 20 in receptions and yards/reception.

Nimrod has 3 less TD than the league leader. There are like 15 other players in that category.

Those SunBelt players have performed better than the "high 4-star" talent that is all over the defensive side of the ball.

The way players leave today it should be just as equal to fire them if they are grading out poorly early in games.

We need to write bigger checks if this team is going to get turned around

We can't fire him, but he has done a poor job this year.

No doubt.

But those checks have to go to the right players. You can shotgun dollars all day. If the money isn't spent in the right places, well, we see what happens...

Kentucky used a rifle at the trenches while Auburn shotgunned money at skill positions. Can't take advantage of those skill players if there is no blocking. Can't cover forever when there is no pressure.

The UCF receivers have surprised me. They are all pretty good. But it doesn't matter when you have a line that can't run block for shite. Cobb and Mabson should be doing a lot better than they are.

? They both have decent averages. It’s just that the OC refuses to feed them the ball. Another game with neither RB with double digit carries.

That is why I made the comment about the money going to the right place. Apparently, the UK coach understood the assignment. While Golesh figured he could win in the SEC with skill positions.

It is a fine balance, but I am hoping he learns that he needs to lean into the lines. It is where football games are won and lost for the most part.

Dominate the lines...Scheme the skills...

I have no idea how that happened and wasn’t even watching until the end because I thought it would be a blowout.

Im sure all of you could have built a much better roster being hired 4 days before early signing and having already worked the entire year scouting for lower tier talent for a lower tier team.

Skill issue, right?
