You want to see Gatewood. Message received.

Its a little worrisome that we don't have another home game for another month, that makes it a little harder to bounce back strong and regain your confidence, but having a bye week and then Arkansas makes me feel a lot better about it

You could definitely see it in his eyes after the 2nd 3 and out. He looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. I can't imagine having to deal with that kind of pressure at that age.

Yeah I saw that too. Didn’t think Florida environment would be that much different than A&M’s. Especially when it’s hot. I remember the Auburn- LSU game and it was 94,miserable, and quiet.

I have never been to A&M. the swamp gets so loud you can't hear yourself think. The stands are right on top of the bench too. It is a hostile environment. Our best shot was to get up bigly on them early.

I have been to A&M 3 times and have not been impressed at all. I honestly don't know why Kyle field has the reputation for being a tough place to play. Haven't been to the Swamp but I don't think there is a comparison.
I winced all week when people would say "well he went into A&M and wasn't phased". Kyle field is just not intimidating.

I was at the 18-17 Kerwin Bell comeback game. I have never heard Jordan-Hare louder. I wasn't there for the prayer or the kick six though. Like I said.........their stands come right behind the benches. The opposing players can't get away from it.

Yup.

The offensive gameplan was garbage, frankly.
I disagree. Gus creates opportunities that exposed mismatches, we just couldn’t execute. That is also on Gus, but I wouldn’t put the blame on the game plan.

quote:game pla was trash. So Bo's first play was a screen pass where the DL get a free rush at him??? How the frick is that a good game plan? Every screen we ran was a disaster. Every third and short play was a disaster. Gus choked. Bo choked. Defense blew the start of the game and the finish.

He's a good player and it was inevitable that he shite the bed as a true frosh. I'd rather him do it in the Swamp than in Red Stick. I like this kid. He's got money and he will beat 2 of the 3 big teams we have left.

Execution more than play calling. The DE was not supposed to come in completely unblocked on the first play from scrimmage. The OL just do not communicate or execute.
Still think mixing in Gatewood a couple of times would have stopped them from pinning back their ears.
Bo was shell shocked and running for his life many times that caused a lot of the accuracy problems.

Gatewood should’ve played. 11/27 1 TD, 3 INT’s is pathetic.

To be fair that guy was accounted for an Horton got whipped. It is the same blocking scheme we attempted to run against A&M in 2016 when Garrett ate it alive. Part of our OL issues are plays/blocking schemes where the great athletes simply blow them up before they even begin.

Don't forget the contributions of Malik Miller in the second half. I know many like to hate on him but he has a role in this offense for a reason.

I wouldn’t put the blame on the game plan.
There's only one plan. It's basically the same all season long, with only a different gimmick used here or there. Not even a mid-game adjustment despite their o'line saying, "oh-boy it's Boobies again".

Oh, guess the melts are still in full force. This take is remarkably stupid.

Against good defenses, this
Offense does not work.
Offense does not work.

Right. That’s why it failed so miserably against A&M and State.

Nix already has the same number of INT’s that Stidham had all of last season. And we still have 6 more games. He looked like nervous wreck out there. I don’t think I’ve seen Gus that upset at a player in years.
He’s had one good game and it was against a team with suspended players. Hard to believe Gatewood is worse than what Nix is producing. But whatever.
