I wonder about shot blocking being affected?
We don't know the injury, it's severity or if a re-occurrence. But elbows above his shoulders could be painful in a multitude of directions.

Shoulder's a real fickle joint.

I don't know what in the sunshine pumping is going on here, but in 2 scrimmages we have shot poorly. We have been a bad 3 pt shooting team for a few years now, so its not like its unexpected. If we shoot like that this year then we are a middle of the pack team. Eventually we will hire a real shooting coach.

We shot the ball very well vs Furman from what I've heard. Broome and Holloway are both expected to play against Baylor

What the hell are you talking about?

We averaged 106 points per game in the two scrimmages and nobody is in here pumping sunshine at all really. It's common knowledge that Aden and Denver can shoot the ball extremely well and CBM has proven to do it at lower volume.

We reportedly did shoot it well against Furman. We didn't last night but that will happen sometimes. The 2019 team had games where they shot it poorly too.

I don't think we will be top 20 in the nation at 3P% or anything but we should be in the top 5 or so of the SEC.

Against a small school and one I didn't know know was a school until yesterday.

Weren't the stats released from the 1st game? Aden shot terribly in that one too.

I'm not doom and gloom or anything, it looks like the defense should be good this year, but that kind of shooting is just not how basketball is played anymore. We are going to get shot out on the gym.

Bruh 110 against a team as good as Furman is insane. AUM is actually small so yeah I wouldn’t put a ton of stock in that one. Also you likely have it completely backwards. Offense should be back to being good but defense is the concern with this team.

Nothing official was released from the Furman game though. There were some reports but Bruce made them get rid of the official box scores.

Bruce said the AUM game was the worst we’d shot all offseason and wasn’t concerned about it.

Bruce also said we had been getting after it for 6 straight days going into the AUM game. Probably some tired legs.

Unless I'm reading the room wrong, Bruce seems to like the offensive side of this team a good bit. But has made it known that he thinks the defense needs work. (edit: sorry, I see AA7 has addressed this above)

From a fan perspective, I can't find a player that was added in place of another that isn't a offensive upgrade or at worst equal.

Holloway for Green - Should be an upgrade but I'll wait to see the product on the college floor
Jones for Jasper - huge upgrade
CBM for Flanigan - at least equal, I'm thinking it will turn into a upgrade though
Johnson for Traore - huge upgrade

The lack of 3 point shooting is concerning.

you must not have been a good one if you couldnt throw it sidearm to first behind a runner with too large a secondary lead

All you need is one or two that can knock it down. We know Denver can, now can Holloway and Williams?

I’m glad you think so but Bruce adamantly disagrees.

CBM and Chaney Johnson didn’t forget how to shoot in the offseason and we’ve seen Donaldson go on a tear from deep.

We also shot it much better against Furman. Let’s let it play out a few games.

You’re an idiot. I never came out of my squat to throw behind a runner at first base just launched into my knees. Had the arm to do it. But throwing sidearm for a catcher is never correct you dummy.

Why are you the way you are? I was discussing shoulder impingement and you wanna come in and try to teach me about something you have no clue about. I’ve dealt with shoulder impingement for 25 plus years. Done every rehab you can imagine. Just refuse to go under the knife. But I think life has turned out fine for me. My glory days are behind me as far as throwing so I move on to something I haven’t mastered. That’s what makes me who I am. Relentless effort to better myself each day. Not ashamed of anything I’ve ever done regardless if right or wrong it’s me and if people don’t like it F them. I’ve built up strong great young men my entire life and that’s good enough for me. Whenever you affect 200-300 young men that come back 10-20 years later some that cry when they hug you thanking you for instilling in them hard work, work ethic, perseverance, and patience let me know. And never did any of it for that I did it because it was right and what those young men and students needed. So piss off you couldn’t carry my jock strap.

I agree Rig we will have some cool shooting nights but shooting isn’t a concern for me. Defending the rim and drives to the basket are my concerns because of high percentage shots and fouls. We will drop some OCC games this year but should get us ready for the SEC grind. There a bunch of good SEC teams. Get to mid February with a chamce to still be in it for the conference championship and I’ll be happy. Let’s make a run in the dance!!!

I have a few concerns about this team. Shooting is not one of them. We will have a few more nights where we shoot poorly but we will have more where we will shoot it well. That’s basketball
