I hear you, it's frustrating. But with basketball and the world of NIL, apparently we are not throwing enough money around, at least that's what's been said. Hell, Bruce even put the stop sign up on Neville renovations a few years ago to try and "get our NIL right". And as you said, coming off a final four with the program being "hot", Bruce couldn't even put together a stud line up for this season. Spending the cash certainly won't guarantee you every year March success but it sure helps; problem is apparently folks aren't lining up with their wallets open. Building rosters with limited funds is not for the faint of heart.

Get ready for an Overton and Walker rotation tonight

So are the signs pointing towards Overton getting the start or at least some serious minutes at pg? Could be an interesting shake up with the back court players (and minutes) if that happens.
Really happy for Butch to get all the recent improvements to Plainsman Park. Can't wait for the season start this weekend.

If the sin is so bad - remove him from the team.
Problem is, nobody knows how this was handled within. Maybe SP wanted to kick him off the team but Kaden begged to stay on. Maybe Kaden’s parents told their son “you made this bed, you’re going to lie in it”. Maybe SP sat down with him and his parents and they all agreed the punishment fit the crime. Maybe Kaden told SP he was done and somebody on staff stepped in and talked him out of it. It’s all speculation as to what and how it went down after the incident but he only has himself to blame for the mess he put the team and staff in.

Don't know if this is correct but it seems the AAU kids and probably most HS kids nowadays are not taught or care to defend. They transfer from one high school to another or head to Overtime Elite and it's offense and offense only to "get noticed". Couple that with some college transfers coming in that have never had defense impressed upon them. It's an uphill battle but one SP and staff have to win. I also think it's why building a nucleus of returning players can only benefit when it comes to teaching defense. Some will pick up quick, some will take a season or two, some never. Unfortunately, we have a group that at times can give you some effective minutes but it's just not consistent enough.

Come on, this is nothing like the cluster known as football

Rebounds, turnovers, free throws and the lead, good job.

Can’t imagine he doesn’t. I think it’s all drama by bama.

That St John’s win looks really good today.
Love to see anybody take down Hurley, seeing St John’s do it is just a bonus for AU. NC St still clicking off wins too.

What about Bashir? Last news was he returned to practice 3 weeks ago.
Last I heard, he was cleared to play since FL game but I don’t see him cracking into any playing time unless injuries or a blow out occur.

I hope that is the case, I would like to have him return. In this day and age of "rebuilding rosters", I'm all for keeping players that can contribute and build a nucleus.

Not injured but apparently still in the dog house...Magwood.

Weekly presser, SP was asked if the week off gave anybody an "opportunity to step up and earn a spot or more playing time". Response was first, a quick correction that "we have an 8 man rotation" (reporter stated a 7 man rotation for the question) and that SP "likes the rotation we've had since we inserted Blake into the line up and we are 5-2 with some really good wins so we're gonna continue to roll with those guys...told those other guys you gotta stay right and stay ready, cause at a moments notice your opportunity / number could get called and you just gotta be ready".

It seems like Magwood may be done for the season? Although seeing him on the sidelines during this stretch, he's looked engaged and excited. Did SP tell him up front he wouldn't see the court again this season for punishment but they would like him to stay for a chance to play next year if he's willing to stick it out and improve his attitude?? It's very confusing to see him smiling and cheering on the bench after being sat now for 7 games.

Bball Injury Report

SP: "Bye week came at great time for us"

Revealed that Hall's taped up index finger on his shooting hand was because he had 3 stitches. This was the first I heard why it was taped and seemed to bothering him, I may missed this if it was stated previously.

Murphy was a "little banged" up but is good.

Overton is fine after the bang to the back of the head he took.
