With Okoro healthy, where do you play him?... we’ve got a handful of guys who can play the 3 or are stretch 4s.
What this team needs is perimeter shooting.

I’m still confused why Jaylin hadn’t played much until recently.
Maybe the effort wasn't there in practice consistently. Who knows but trust in bruce fully. He's earned that much

Bruce on Twitter complimented his effort and attitude like 5 weeks or so ago saying that Jaylin is going to be really good for us one day. He said he appreciated his patience
I don’t get why we can’t comprehend that he wasn’t getting minutes behind Okoro

Jaylin is a true 4/stretch 4. Okoro is a 3. Purifoy is the one Williams is competing with.

I mean, it is a very very strong possibility.

When Okoro went out with an injury did he play? Yes
I rest my case

Of the two which is more likely to make 3s...a desperate need for this team.
Jaylin has a bright future, but it isn't crazy to think he can't find a spot when Okoro is healthy.

I expect him to play more for the rest of the season but this is definitely a factor. I was impressed with his dribbling though. He showed signs of someone who can punish a defender who plays up too much to defend the three.

Williams should get minutes at the 4 and McLemore should be at the 5 behind Wiley. He’s much more comfortable there.

I think this is probably a big reason that he’s struggling. He’s not quick enough for most 4’s and they have no problem stepping out to guard him on the pick and pop. Being at the 5 gives him the quickness advantage we saw so much the past couple years.

Agreed. Inserting Williams even when Okoro is back will be good for our guys’ legs too. We look like we need it coming down the stretch.

Agreed
I also agree Okoro is a 3 and he’s not the one limiting Jaylin’s minutes.

Pearl has already said recently that Williams minutes are dependent on how Mclemore and DP play.
Obviously Okoro’s injury forced moving pieces around in the front court

We have 6 guys listed between 6'6" & 6'7". Purifoy and McLemore's minutes haven't decreased. Okoro going down opened the door
Rewatching some of the game right now and it doesn't really matter what we label him. He plays around the perimeter as much as he plays inside. I'd label him as a 4 as well looking more closely at who he rotated with yesterday

Jaylin is a 4. That is his position. Yes.

That's b/c Purifoy is more of an outside player at the 4. His strengths were 3 pt shooting. His weakness is inside around the basket on offense, and ofc he is a weaker defender. So Jaylin when in had to run with the offense as Purifoy did.
Jaylin was basically getting Purifoy minutes, but has a better drive and game around the basket. I think if he plays more, Pearl will let him do 'his thing' as he puts it which is closer to the basket. He LOVES to stuff the ball. lol.
I have no idea how good Jaylin is around the 3 pt line, but we may find out the more he plays.
