If not being a massive ahole is PC culture, maybe it isn't that bad.

I'm all for heckling opponents but that's not an excuse to be an ahole

Meh I’ve worked closely with third country nationals too. What was said was mild.

I am older than most of you and have seen some shite in my days. People are always going to be arse holes. Throwing one dumbass out of a game wont change things.

There are always going to be differences in people and people will always be dicks about that. Both ways.

I dont agree or condone what that idiot at the game was yelling. He probably got what was coming to him other than maybe the player catching up to him later and working it out between them . That being said, people these days are seriously thin skinned and though calling someone a name these days is serious business, people need to learn to let things roll off your their backs a little.

If people are hurt because they believe other people dont care for them because of color/race/gender/nationality, etc, stopping them from saying it outload will not change their views.

Just because someone didnt call you a dumb white cracker out loud, does not mean they dont think its so. Trying to sensor people into being things they arent, is more than likely hurting the issue, not helping it.

I agree people just need to grow up and stop being dumbasses but on the other hand, we need to stop being so thin skinned and not worry so much about what other people think about you. Just do you

I think this kid should be executed for what he did. Banned from games and school expulsion isn't enough. The punishment for telling an opposing player to go back to his homeland should be death. Plain and simple...

Auburn has a ton of international students, this is not the road we want to go down. It’s a rather mild insult, but getting kicked out of a sporting event is a rather mild punishment in the grand scheme of life as well.

I would have been fine with someone just letting the kid know he needed to shut up, because Auburn isn’t going to have that be their image on a national broadcast. But again, getting kicked out of basketball games isn’t much of punishment, and the kid is probably going to make himself into a martyr for the xenophobic cause anyway and get himself a ton of free publicity if he wants it.

Jaylin Williams has been a pleasant surprise during Okoro’s downtime.

Good to have another big for some quality minutes.

I guess Stretch needed a year of training to be able to compete in this league.

Turbo too.

We have more American students. The kid was escorted out of the game. That is pretty embarrassing. I think that should be punishment enough.

I don't believe in making mountains out of mole hills, especially when the situation is a college kid simply yelling out something dumb.

You have to draw a line somewhere and not operate at the mercy of Twitter mobs...

What does Stretch need to do over the next 8 months to be game ready for 20-21 season?

Gain muscle?
Better range of shot?
Free throws?

I think it’s mainly offense. Like most young bigs he will also need to learn to defend in the league without fouling.

I’ll chime in as a minority. Given the context I’m pretty sure that student was just trying to be funny. I seriously doubt he’s peddling harmful ideologies in the middle of a basketball game.

But this is a time where a lot of students are really freaked out about their future in the US and I appreciate Auburn taking it seriously. Hopefully the student and Auburn can work something out to get back to the games. Everyone deserves to be heard

We really need to steer back to basketball now. It’s not like this thread can get locked.

I agree with both Jones and Cocoa though. Both coaches seem to have already moved past it, so it won’t be a big deal unless a sensitive third party doesn’t move on. While mild, it can put strain on the PR team. The student governing body will decide the matter, and quite frankly I’d be fine with whatever they decide.

It seems like many fouls are called if you swing to block.

Blocking to to yourself is very efficient, but it seems like the kids like to block the ball to row 5 in the stands.

Can Stretch be a rim protector?

Can he handle at all?
Any post moves?
