He's real stiff like Nick Ward.

Not sure I agree with that. Just watch Ward run the floor, he gallops like Jordan Granger/Austin Wiley and barely can pick his feet up

Cardwell looks a taller/stiffer Cinnmeon Bowers. Not elite athleticism but looks comfortable/normal moving the floor

BM reporting Pearl met with Wiley and family regarding Wiley "options" on staying or going to NBA...... ..... Eta I missed the part where it says he is likely returning yay!

If Wiley doesn't learn to spot up shoot this off-season, he is just fouls off the bench. I would rather NCAAT version of Purifoy play center than Austin Wiley.

I'm rooting for Wiley but hard to justify serious minutes when he doesn't fit our offense/defense and isn't playing well enough to offset the poor fit

I have pretty much agreed with all of your Wiley takes dating all the way back to his freshman year, but I do think he was legitimately hobbled by injury most of this year and we didn't see the real Austin Wiley. Definitely not a system fit at all but the best version of a healthy Wiley could at least be more than fouls off the bench (at least I think)

He was solid before the injury... and got closer to that level in the tournaments.

The reality is we need him when we face the bigger teams on our schedule... we prob beat UK at home and maybe LSU with a 100% on the floor.

I've looked back at Austin Wiley videos and he has always been the same player from HS to Team USA to AU

While Wiley has always been a big, strong, athletic post player with good post moves and a high motor when healthy.

Wiley has had problems with his hands from catching the ball to retaining possession to feel/soft touch on shots.

I would love to be wrong on this but a healthy leg won't magically give him the abilities like...

- Catching the ball
- Retaining possession on rare times ball is Caught
- "Soft touch" instead of line drive post shots
- Court vision to pass
- Skills to do something other than clog paint

We beat UK in the NCAAT by making Reid Travis look unplayable, not because we matched up in the post.

Reid Travis can't switch onto Brown/Harper
Reid Travis can't defend a stretch 5 who can shoot
Reid Travis can't rim protect when spaced
Reid Travis can't rebound when spaced

We fronted the post effectively with Spencer, McLemore and Purifoy which led to Travus taking only 5 shots in 40+ minutez while PJ Washington turned the ball over 5 times on top of the multiple Hagans turnovers trying to feed the post

Yes, if we played a player that is not on the current roster, we might’ve beaten uk.

We are talking about moving forward what value Wiley brings. I'm saying we have significantly better ways of matching up with these post players.

Okeke, McLemore and NCAAT version of Purifoy all have flashed potential to be a stretch 5 that would make these post guys unplayable

Gene's is spot on about Wiley. I think a lot of his issues are mental.

I think he was better as a freshman because he was just playing ball and not over thinking.

If he doesn't improve his hands he's going to have a short career overseas

I could be wrong but I feel like it's a done deal. We just need to focus on getting him acclimated, and Coach Flanigan will help bring him along, along with his son who'll also be arriving on the plains. Meet the next Auburn Tiger...

Playing 10 guys has to help in recruiting.

If you can play, CBP will find minutes for you.

Is 10 the most CBP has ever played in meaningful minutes?
