Well, we need to stop coming out so freaking flat.

Sure Wiley is injured, AGAIN.

But we weren't bombing games all season even when he was sitting out or barely playing.

Something is going on with the team.

The refs keep breaking one off inside our bigs while letting opposite big men play like the Detroit Bad Boys. Fight me if I’m wrong.

Are we missing Mustapha Heron? Just looked it up and he's averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds a game.

Hard to believe we already have 3 conference losses.

Seems like everyone is trying to play “me” ball and jacking up quick 3s

I have no idea which way this basketball team will go as we have a very difficult game against MSU. We have loss two straight games in gut wrenching fashion. Win those two and we are on top of the world, we didn't so we are not.

Still I like this team to improve as the season progresses, but against big teams we miss Wiley (5 extra fouls, great inside presence, etc.).

If I had to guess, this is a 10-8 type squad.

We have some big conference games left.. It sucks we couldnt get another out of conference win this weekend but beating MSU in Starkville will take some of the rust off of the team.

They just come out flat. They are a scrappy bunch but having to dig out of a hole is not what this team is built for.

Everything is still in front of us if we take care of business and win out.

Chuma has to be more of a go-to on the offensive end. He's great with his back to the basket and should be a mismatch for most 4s taking them off the dribble. He's got to be more aggressive and we have to start giving him more touches for it to "click" for him.

Yes, definitely. He brought something that no one else on the team can do. We were sold a false bill of goods with Doughty. I'm not even hating on Doughty. He's just not what we were told he was.

Yeah I agree. Big body and versatile player.

We have Moo State next, which won't be easy, then Mizzou (should win), then Bammer.

Also high basketball IQ and aggressor mentality. He understood when to take control of a game and when to get teammates involved. We definitely miss that personality on this team.

I agree with the aggressive mentality, but I think his basketball IQ was one of his biggest weaknesses. He could take over games because he got tunnel vision. If he touched the ball during a possession it was likely going to end there. He usually was the one who provided the spark we needed from our starting five. Dunbar has done that off the bench at times, but the closest thing we have to that from our starters is Harper.

Chuma was the go to guy on the last shot, and he couldn't deliver.

Well, my post was related to our offensive philosophy moving forward with no real threat off the dribble or in the post. An almost last second kickout after Bryce drained the clock isn't much to blame Chuma for.

Are you criticizing the play? We had a wide open 3FG look + opportunity for rebound + put back

We just didn't execute, it happens

No, the play was fine. I would personally prefer to attack a little earlier so that a miss doesn't practically end the game at the point but whatever. I was more or less stating that Chuma's single miss doesn't mean we shouldn't give him more touches and let him attack the basket.

I think we’re better than to blame all our problems on refs. Guys are committing stupid fouls and it’s getting called.

I don’t know why we’re not playing full court pressure. We can go 10 deep with Wiley playing.

There was plenty of time to for a rebound and put back. We just didn't get the board.

Put it this way, had we made the last shot in our last two games everyone is behaving completely different.

Yep. That’s why I’m not super bent out of shape about sitting here at 2-3 in the SEC. I’m seeing some good things and think this team can be every bit as good as I hoped, especially when Wiley gets back. I’ll be a lot more worried if we don’t win at least 3 of our next 4

Just my preference to get a look earlier in the clock when you're losing. Miss the shot and/or put back but have 5-8 seconds remaining for the win or tie. Just how I see it. No knock on Bruce or anything.

That cuts both ways... make the shot, then your opponent has 5 seconds to get up their own shot to answer. You can cover a ton of court in 5 seconds.
