She deserves to make all the money she can and help her family.

Just to be clear - if Nike/Wheaties comes and offers Suni $1mm in endorsements, shes still perfectly free to compete at AU, right?

Way more money coming down the pike for her than that.

NIL is great in that it made the decision about whether to college or pro easy as hell. A gymnast on her level is going to make the lion's share of their money on endorsements anyway.

I hope she gets PAID big time. She represented the country and AU well. Not sure if she will still compete at Auburn again or not.

And for someone like Suni, the next 4 years are her peak marketability and, most likely, her peak athletic ability for gymnastics. Coming off gold in the olympics, heading to college, and having the olympics again in only 3 years. NIL is probably the only way she can even go to college at this point

The Wall Street Journal reported that she still plans on attending Auburn.

Graba and a lot of othet people are pretty confident in her enrolling at AU.

Yep. Coach Graba said as much in an interview yesterday.

This is a good change with regard to college gymnastics. Should elevate the sport. Gymnastics is one of those things that gets big around the Olympics and usually only then. If you have world class athletes competing against each other on a weekly basis, imagine the potential to draw eyes going forward.

No, If you read the WSJ, she, as of now has a pretty strong plan of her future which includes going to Auburn.

I think it was funny that she said her way of celebrating is going to college.

[/quote]“I’m probably going to take a couple weeks off of gym, and then go to college. That’s my way of celebrating—going to college,” she told reporters Friday.

This is a good change for all sports, while it seams most are focused on Football and MBB this really helps the Olympic sports. There was a skier about a decade ago that had to quit Colo football due to winning in the Olympics, Missy Franklin lost out on a lot of money by going to college.

Kids should not be punished by going to college especially if they can make money at the same time. A Missy Franklin or Suni Lee type student will elevate not only the school they go to but every school we travel to this year will be standing room only.

Tim Cook and Apple should write an exclusive contract for megabucks and let Suni enjoy her college career at AU without distractions and commitments to multiple other obligations. Would be best for her, AU, and Apple, allowing Suni to have as normal a college life as possible under circumstances where everyone will be wanting a part of her. Imagine starting AU as a freshman under her circumstances.
I hope someone on high is looking out for her best.

I don’t think Tim Cook or apple will get involved at the college level. he could have been funding already but apple basically dominates the market so It’s just my opinion but I wouldn’t look to them being a player in the NIL.

Now Nike will play in that market so not sure what that will do to long to uniform contracts with schools

Would Suni be better off doing NIL for clothing, makeup, and food products?

It will be interesting to see how she can capitalize on the gold medal.

I'd imagine it would be lucrative for Auburn to host a "Sunni Lee Gymnastics" camp. I'm sure there is a way to make that work Within the NIL rules.

If I remember, after she won the Gold, Auburn got over 1,000 requests for gymnastic tickets. So, its already happening and only going to get bigger.

And to someone posting that she should be enrolling for fall semester, she had already enrolled.
The question now, is will she be able to attend classes, or have to take some online courses, if her schedule continues to be full for her promotionals she will be doing after winning for now 3 medals, so far.

Suni taking online AU courses using her Apple Macbook, talking on her iPhone to her parents, watching a replay of her gymnastic routines on an iPad, and checking time on her Apple watch to catch her next flight would be dynamite Apple commercials. Tim Cook and Apple are remiss if they don't prepare Suni an exclusive contract (even if atypical business practice for Apple). She is potentially a gold mine.

SHe just missed on getting that 4th medal that would have put her in rarified gymnastics lore.

Very few gymnasts have won 4 goals in an Olympics.

She seemed to have waned a little after winning the all round gold.

I think its the opposite, I think the judges looked at her different. Look back on her uneven bar performance, everyone seemed to say it was excellent but the judges gave her a lower score and most experts seemed perplexed by it, including Suni herself.

You can say that about any of the scores. I heard it repeatedly by the commentators, and I expected them to be a little biased.

They probably all aren't the same judges either.

So no...Not going to go there blaming judges.

Suni even said she had tired mentally, and didn't feel the same as she was doing the unevens and the beam....
