I think we will play football this fall.

Our capacity is 87451 with butts in seats.

I guess if we took out every other row, and then only had people in every 4th seat, capacity would be around 10,000 to 15,000.

Maybe they will just play in empty stadium?

Fan shots on TV or the video board would look really weird. Imagine a huge play happening an you have to resist giving a high five or hugging a loved one.

I like these thought experiments.

Yes but the thought of no games makes me want to jump off the stadium

Maybe, but would big time donors get some seats?

Maybe have a student of the week?

I remember the good old days when I could wake up hung over and find the funniest signs on college gameday. I guess that’s gone too.

I don’t know why people act like we’ll never have crowds again

I know a guy who will sell you a ticket for a seat you can't use. Maybe that will be the way we have to handle the 2020 season.

College football without fans in the stadium is, by my estimate, 50%-60% less effective as a product? Of course I'll still watch but man it would be weird.

We could also have attending fans sign a waiver?!

Once the get the test down to rapid testing...it will be test all players, coaches and staff day of game. Play the game without people but on TV.

The issue for college football (and college sports in general) is not as much fans as it is campus access. If campuses have to remain fully online in the fall, then that means students aren't on campus. No practices or workouts, ergo no games. There are other logistical issues with funding and media coverage.

It's easier for pro sports to move forward with no fans because there are fewer administrative bodies, fewer teams, and consistent funding. College sports have to clear administrative gates at the university and state levels as well as conference and NCAA. It's too many moving parts with too many unknowns, in my opinion, to be able to pull off by the fall.

Everyone will be wearing masks. 1/3 capacity so 27,000 or so. Higher donors will get first dips on tickets. Free food to everyone in separate containers.

That will be some juicy news on gamedays. Star QB, RB, or HC can't participate due to positive test.

Somebody needs to be working on team color masks and gloves! The masks probably need straw holes!
