I got no complaints thus far about how Golesh is running this program.
Hopefully that will translate to progress on the field.

First time, in a very long time, that I feel like I used to. It's like a kid, 2 weeks before Christmas. I'm really looking forward to that first kickoff.

I wish I could feel that way about football again… but my last few years have destroyed that feeling for me.
My neighbor who I work with is a big LSU fan. He is all excited about this season asking me what I think we will be. All I can say is who knows? He says you are the person who I get my auburn scoop from. All I could say is well I’m hopeful but I’ll believe it when I see it. He says I thought you loved this new coach. And yea, I do, but I was convinced we were gonna go on a run last year and we finished with a losing record.
So… yeah…. I hope… but I won’t put money on anything until I see proof of concept

If you guys haven’t watched Golesh sit down with Chris Doering and Peter Burns of SECN for an hour then you have to go check it out. They were hanging out at his house and fishing in his pond outback chopping it up. Golesh was dropping nothing but pure gems on them.
Also check out Jordan Palmer (Carson Palmer’s youngest brother) working with Byrum Brown in private camps and what he says about Brown as well as Auburn from his visits to the Plains.
He is picking Brown to win the Heisman and says “this is Auburn’s year and nobody sees em’ coming.”
He was blown away when he told Byrum to go on vacation for a week after working so hard only to have Brown blow him up via phone sending him videos of what all he was working on while in Cabo vacationing! He said the dude is absolutely obsessed with being his absolute best and is the most humble kid he has ever known with a work ethic like no other.

Hope is free. Doesn't cost a dime. Ready for the season to get here.

I don’t know how many we’ll win, and I won’t get my hopes up for that because I just don’t think we have an OL to compete, but I’m confident we will play hard with fewer mistakes, and I’m confident that if we’re ever going to be competitive again, Golesh is the guy that can get us there. I really like the cut of his jib.

as anyone who’s read my posts on this forum should know, i was adamantly opposed to the Freezus hire, and not for any moral reasons - just that it was obvious that the game had passed him by and he was a below-average CFB HC when we hired him
Golesh gives the appearance of being in tune not only with the way the sport is played but with the players themselves, in a way Freezus, and Harsin before him, were not
still cautiously optimistic, given our talent limitations, but i’m looking forward to this season more than any since 2019 (although a lot of that may be to distract myself from how everything else in the world has gone to hell worse than AU football since then)

Something feels good about this Golesh led team this year.
This is an interesting video. If you don't want to watch it all start around 11 min.

I watched some. I like Golesh and saw him locally when he came to speak. I feel he could get us back to relevancy.
But, damn! During that interview, he couldn't string together 4 words without a "like" in there. Sometimes the "likes" were back to back, "like like." I bet there were 300+ likes thrown around. Burns started with the "likes" too! It was like listening to a football conversation with guys pretending to be 15 year old girls. I couldn't make it all the way through. I hate Doering from his time at UF, but he at least sounded like an adult.
Yes, I realize I'm ridiculous. I like Golesh, someone needs to teach him how to fish his pond and I'm going to just listen to short sound bites going forward.

I actually like Gus is back in the picture to assist him in navigating the money brokers.

quote:My friend in Auburn, this is different. I had a semblance of hope with out last two. This is a whole other thing. Golesh is saying all the right things, and backing it up with actions. His offense is proven, and he's coupled it with an outstanding defense. I'm not saying we go undefeated, but I am doubtful that any of us get up on a Sunday feeling embarrassed.

i have to admit, i like the fact that all the Kiffin drama is drawing everyone’s attention thus far
gives us an opportunity to fly beneath the radar for awhile
