I would encourage folks that are down on our football program to look more long-term. Next year does not look fun, football-wise. But rarely do we accurately predict what will happen over the next 3-4 years.

So many things can change in 365 days, even. Granted, they could change for the good or for the bad. It's silly, though, to predict longer term issues when we haven't even gotten through the first full NIL year yet and Harsin JUST eclipsed one year at this program.

There is a lot of history left to be written and Auburn fans need to be patient to see where things end up, especially as it relates to the NIL. So many uncertainties that will get worked out.

Let me be clear, I am not guaranteeing Auburn football is going to rise up and be an elite program with NIL deals - but I'm also not assuming they won't. Auburn fans are fickle and we assume the most recent news is the determining factor in the future of this program.

There's only a handful of teams with a realistic chance of winning a title what I would like to see is improvement from year one to year two

we are a middle of the pack team from here on out. Harsin failed in his first year and will fail in his second. By year three he will have zero support and be fired.

I never felt this bad going into a football season as I will this coming year not even 2012. CBH has not produced any positive energy. I'm behind him because he our coach but next year has got to be better. Sorry for feeling so negative I'm not normally that way

My goodness. You guys need to get a freakin' grip.

I can only think you are just trying to get your emotions to the lowest possible level so that you can't be anything but pleasantly surprised if Auburn wins more games or gets higher quality recruits than you think they will? I mean, what a miserable way to watch or follow Auburn football.

They’re the type that if their wife or girlfriend doesn’t immediately respond to their text, phone call or email will think they are having an affair and their relationship is doomed.

We won’t be seriously competitive in the SEC for a couple of more years. This was a 4-5 year rebuild project. And who’s to say it will even work? Until we get offensive lineman it won’t happen.

Need NIL to come through in the 2023 class. It helped us a lot in the 2022 finish and Citizen is still a top priority.

I don't think anyone thought it would be a 4-5 year rebuild, not with our records and decent (not great recruting overall).

The believe ahrsin believes he could maintain in the short term(2 years), and then build it up even more.

THe problems that are mindboggling, are some understandable, but others are making it more difficult for Harsin.

I was hopeful to be very competitive in year 3.

Everyone's instant gratification is showing.

The million dollar question is, why did it need to be a 4-5 year rebuild? I can understand that length of time if we perpetually sucked, but we just needed to move the needle from generally average/good to consistently great. Arkansas seems to be doing more in less time.

Arky had an advantage - they went from an HC who was almost universally despised by players and fans alike, to a guy who was already popular with the fanbase from his previous stint as OL coach and was known as a "players' coach".

We went from a guy who was mostly loved by his players (even though he seemed lost at times with how to use them), and a fanbase that was deeply divided on whether he should have been fired, to a guy with a reputation for being a hardass, who was largely unknown to anyone outside of the Mountain West.

I'll be the first to admit, I thought we were way ahead of schedule at halftime of the MSU game - then the wheels exploded, caught fire and THEN fell off.

Now it appears that 2022 will be our true "rebuilding year". We'll have to see how it plays out, but there will be a lot of pain in the short term.

With the portal there's really no excuse for a 4-5 year rebuild anymore.

Especially when after this time frame a coach at a school like Auburn will have made between 20-30 million dollars.

Particularly with the expanding number of extra year covid players.
