If that is what it is and Auburn refuses to do anything we’re dead in the water imo. If we can’t spend with the bid dogs then we may as well save ourselves some heart ache. Cancelling that OTV account and not watching on Saturdays has a way of waking a dept up and if not it was a good run of enjoying Auburn.

Wonder if we've missed out on Byron Brown coming and Coleman got word
Did I miss something? I thought that the main sticking point with Cam was that he wanted Deuce to start, not Brown. If Cam is leaving, wouldn't it be more likely that we are getting Brown and he's the starter?

Man never quit. Your choice though

At this point Brown would be crazy to come here with no OL to block for him. That would totally tank his draft stock.

But you didn't pay Lew, Williams, our starting corners(one of which is a NFL guy) let's be freaking real
Do we know what we're paying or offering or is it simply speculation?

Someone tell me why a player would not enter the portal, if no other reason than to determine their market value every year

I guess what I’m saying is 10 years ago there was the aspect of we can always hire a guy and recruit out of a hole. Now it’s so lopsided w money what can we do?

Plausible. If they enter with no contact, then they gone.

Have we truly confirmed that he's leaving yet?

Would appreciate anyone providing a link to an AU podcast run by someone who has a clue whats going on.

It is just speculation. We don't even know who all will and won't be back yet.

I was under the assumption that Coleman wanted a proven QB coming in. Why in the hell would Coleman spend his last year with a QB who's yet to play meaningful snaps?

Either way, this current iteration of CFB is hard to support. Even professionals have contracts and can’t bounce around to wherever every year.

What do you predict jville’s title will be?
Coleman in the Hole edition?
Coleman in the Hole edition?

This new coaching staff and front office sucks. I wish we could fire these idiots and start the new search today, because the way things are headed (quickly) we will be looking for a new HC in a couple of years anyway.
I don't see how the Golesh tenure can be any higher than an F grade so far. Only thing he's gotten right is keep Atkins, but every other impact player didn't get paid and walked.
At this point I just assume every decent player we have is gone.. hell Atkins might change his mind and still go in the portal at this rate.

100%. One of the worst things they did was not revert the transfer rules back to having to sit out a year once we opened up NIL.

Cant have high expectations if we don't have elite players.. Maybe that's their thinking

I have no idea why everyone here is so surprised he left. I am surprised it took him so long.
Ask yourself, and no looking at your diploma on the wall, why the hell would he stay at Auburn? Be honest.
He has already wasted some of his career here playing for a loser. He was promised a lot, got nothing as far as a winning program. And please dont give me the money shite. Dude is going to get the same if not more money almost any other team he goes to. Why the hell would he stay here?
Look at the program and the situation.

We have gone from hiring freeze and caring about getting players on campus to hiring golesh and losing all the players we recruited for two years. This should go great. Freeze couldn’t coach. Golesh can’t recruit. Jaba baby Jaba.

I think the next few years will suck. The situation is not sustainable, but that does nothing to stop the short term pain.
NIL and more importantly the portal have changed everything. We now will give less time for an HC to turn it around. To be fair, in the current climate, if they can't show tremendous improvement in two years then they may not be situated for this version of college football. We also better get used to not getting attached to players until some more rules are implemented.
None of this looks good for Golesh, but we might as well wait and see what the portal ends up looking like before we get out the pitchforks.
This is the big question and I don't have the answer.
The other thing I have to wonder is how many guys already know exactly where they are going. It was obvious to anyone with eyes how this season was going since at least Mizzou. I think conversations have probably been going on for at least that long.
Right now, AU is getting stiffed by this, but most schools are going to get a turn in the barrel at some point. I fully intend to melt later, but want to get it over at once, so I will hold out until January.
