I know it is a step up for him to go from USF to Auburn in terms of tradition, but I think it speaks for Golesh that a lot of offense there put up good numbers and want to follow him here. Means that they like him as a coach. I don't think our players would follow Hugh Freeze to another school.

Agreed. How many followed him from Liberty?

WIN-WIN-WIN situation. Duece wouldn't beat out the potential incoming Senior. He would be paid very well to sit the bench again.

I think we will be ok if we get the 1 & 2 qb from USF. The new Signee can sit and learn and compete the following year. If we get their productive WRs then we will be fine with them IMO. We will save some money for the Lines. We should be back to winning in no time. Shedding off the malaise that has hit our program for the pas several years.

We didn't have a real QB competition last season and it killed us. Perhaps...... if we were willing to allow our 2million dollar (Jackson) QB to compete we'd have a better outcome on the field? Daniels would have been the QB faster. It would be awful to let a million dollar QB sit on the bench..... but in my opinion worse to NOT play the best guy. From a financial standpoint how many millions will Auburn lose if the stadium is nearly empty? How much of a hit has Auburn the brand and city taken the last five years by people not celebrating and enjoying victories? Oh and for the record I know Deuce wasn't going to beat Brown. I'm just saying that THIS same philosophy hasn't worked for us recently.

Outside of the Mendoza brothers, I have no clue who other teams backups are. Only your starter matters. We got Brown.

People are also living in a dream world where football players never get hurt. If Brown goes down, those same people will be crying about why didn’t they pay Deuce to be the backup as our 2* backup comes out and looks awful.

Hopefully we can find some lower level QB to transfer in like Ole Miss did, but that's an extremely rare situation. It's extremely difficult to get anyone with legit starting talent to transfer in when they know they won't start (or stay as in the case of Duece).

Why would they do that given that we did try and pay Duece to be the backup?

I wouldn’t say Duece is a bum and doesn’t want to compete. Everything I’ve heard he wanted to stay. But his agent said no.
