That’s an impressive run for management. How often did you have good employees have genuine concerns and have to tell them to be part of the system better or worse for them? Did you shoot straight or find a middle ground with stuff like that?

Lanier, I think he has already gotten some believers on the team, and many, from the outside, will gravitate to that culture.

Case in point, the two kids we just got from Michigan, Bear and Marchese. You know who was in their graduating class (or would have been had he not reclassed) Kail Ellis.

You know the coaches told Kail to pick up the phone and tell em we are building something down here and you guys fit the culture we want.

We really need “common sense tots control.”

I’ve virtually thrown tots at the interwebs after Lew declared for the draft.

The greatest compliment I ever got was when a group of employees told me they liked that I never treated them like I was a boss. And in my mind I wasn’t any better or more important than anybody else. I just had more responsibilities. I needed them more than they needed me.

I think you are right and I think it is the only way. Show some teeth this year with whatever we end up with and work with that next cycle. Which is different than we did with slimy Hugh. There we promised, bought and failed

The list of staying....swells to 2!

No wonder Trinidad talking about believers.

He smokes shrooms near Damascus and dreams about Harsin and the showdowns that will arise soon. The true believers and those to be ostracized for the russian

I love you, man, but I promise, our pets’ heads are not falling off.

Let me give you an analogy-
We’re from the same area, and you are a little younger than me, but, do you remember the 1991 UNA football team?

Coach Wallace got there in the late 80’s. The 1990 team had gone 8-3, gotten into the playoffs, but lost. After a good recruiting class, the ‘91 team was stacked with talent, pre-season #3. They were one of the favorites to win it all.

They finished the year 3-7, losing games they weren’t supposed to because they weren’t unified- too many egos, too many “me first” attitudes that led to a toxic locker room.

I transferred to UNA in January of ‘92, just in time for the most hellacious offseason that I’ve EVER been through. It was absolutely brutal. But, it did what it was designed to do- which was to run off everyone who was not 110% committed to the program.

It worked. We went 10-2 in ‘92. Then, went on to win 3 straight National Championships from 93-95, 41-1, 28 game home win streak, etc…

My point is- this is where I see Auburn right now, they are in January of ‘92. We are seeing who is committed to the program, and who is not.

Better days are ahead, brother.

I guess I just wonder what the conversations are regarding kids leaving or not. Golesh strikes me as a hard arse. Sometimes you can take that too far and distance players from your program. You want them to fear you out of respect, not hate you because you’re unreasonable.

If our guys are really spoiled little kids wanting more toys, then let them go. I’d rather go 2-10 with guys that work hard and (actually) love Auburn than 5-7 with guys that are suiting up for a paycheck.

But if Golesh isn’t selling the program as a welcoming place to be, then that’s on him.

We’ll learn a lot next week.

Boston College for Deuce? Ok, maybe his decision making process isn’t there to be a great QB.

The NFL won't care. If he can execute and play well at that place they'll draft him. Personally he's one of the few guys I don't blame for leaving. For the second year in a row he wasn't going to be allowed to compete. in my opinion he would have eventually played better than Arnold at least. Daniels was probably the guy who should have started game 1 though.

I was only half joking.

If you're UNA you're the man too.
