Body autonomy, people can do what the hell they want to do with their own body. Give them a better product and they'll make the choices that are desired by the players, coaches and staff.

Some of this is a product of how we recruit students now.

In the old days, you went to Auburn if you really loved Auburn.

Now they try to pump up the test scores of the freshmen class for US News and World Report admission rankings, etc.

Auburn sucks! We’re going to get killed by UGA and Bama. I hate this for the players but this is what Gus has created!

This is college football, there are upsets every week. So far this team has not been upset and has only lost to two quality teams on the road in the 4th.

However, fans expect the games to all play out to their liking. Mostly because they are a bunch of YouTube’s / Xbox generation that have never played football.

Ole Miss never quit, good for them, thankfully AU never quit. We gained a ton of yards but couldn’t score. Our red zone offense struggled again and our kicker was off. Normally lose these kind of games. But we didn’t,

That’s a testament to this team and staff. This was a trap game we escaped. Go have a latte this morning and get over it.

Or maybe Gus killed people’s enthusiasm with his bumbling and meaningless coach speak.

I think its more a product of how they are handling student tickets. When I was at AU everyone got tickets, you had to line up early to insure you got a seat in the student section, and they were always packed out and seemed to stay that way.

I was there.

Yes, it was cold, but not that cold. If you came prepared, it was a good football weather game.

Yes, the students left after halftime. Treated it like it was homecoming. I wonder if being away from JH, with no game parties caused them to leave early, along with the chill.

Yes, the offense moved the ball, but still stuttered after getting to the 30 yd line on many occasions. To put up over 500+ yds and only 2 tds? Not good, either in finishing or scheming inside the 30.

To have players go on twitter and knock our fans, tells me something...that they are more right than those giving excuses here. There is plenty to support even if many of us don't like Gus' offense, or some on here who just never wanted Gus in the first place.

The players are right. If watching Auburn football makes you that miserable then do something else with you life. There's lots of things people could do instead of whining and feeling entitled. We have some of the best fans in college football and also some of the absolute worst.

Yes, the players are right. Fans need to support the team and stop being such little bitches. Its pathetic. If the way a team is playing makes your life that miserable, you probably need to do something else. I was shocked when the students section cleared out after half. There was not 10% of them left midday through the 3rd

Fans have been in constant meltdown and bitch-fest for three weeks. Now the players are calling you out for it. It will start to affect everything including recruiting.

Can be said for every fan base. In fairness, the stadium was full. The students were the only ones walking out.

But let's not worry about that part

Why are the players calling out fans? We are 7-2 and just eeked out a win against a terrible Ole Miss team.

You got multiple players tweeting about a lack of energy, but Marquel Harrell had the nerve to call the fans "ungrateful" in a tweet.

Fans and students pay hundreds of dollars for their tickets. If they are not pleased with the product on the field or the fricking weather, it is their right to not show up or leave early.

There is a large faction of this generation of players that is extremely entitled. From the "pay to play" shite to Harrell calling fans "ungrateful" last night. A real fricking alpha dog would be more concerned with correcting play on the field rather than blaming attendance. I would certainly hope that 7-2 wasn't an expectation of our team and not considered "good enough". But at this point in the season, a key starter calling the fans "ungrateful" certainly seems that way.

Tim Tebow fricking cried and ranted and raved after a loss to Ole Miss once. Because losing was unacceptable for him and that program at the time. Gus has created a culture of "good enough" at our program and that needs to end immediately or this will certainly only get worse.

So when players are allowed to get paid more money to play college sports, are we as fans then allowed to criticize them?

As major college athletes, they are public figures. Being a public figure comes with some criticism... It also comes with a lot of praise.

Auburn basketballers did it when they couldn’t win. Our football team is doing it now. It’s a natural disconnect between the athlete and fan during disappointment.

Players shouldn’t go after the fans though. Not a good look. They liked being recruited to programs with high expectations, yes? Same for Gus. He can’t say we expect championships and then continue to put that shitty product on the field.

So you dont believe a recruit sitting in the stands who hears fans booing players/team will not notice that?

So we’re finally at the time of the year when we start criticizing “culture” and “coach speak” as if that’s the reason we aren’t winning like we think we should.

You people are clueless.
