That camp list wow!

Thats what struck me Corch, particularly when georgia and alabama are definitely letting the kids know it might hurt their chances with them if they continue to court Auburn.

We arent back yet by any means, but we sure are showing some green sprouts of growth all around this program in all facets that cant help but start to produce results on the field.

Seeing high school coach after high school coach tweeting photos from brother Hugh's visits is very comforting.
The guy is digging a trench from Auburn to every high school that has football players.

Auburn offered 5* Mike Matthews from Parkview, Ga this morning for football and basketball. I’ve heard we have a legit shot with him. He’s really liking Hugh and Marcus Davis.

Some quotes:

quote:

“I want to see who the quarterback is — do we have him on campus?” Freeze said during a chat with reporters Friday morning at the Alabama Football Coaches Association clinic. “I don't know that yet. I think that room's got to grow up. I think they've got to grow up and decide if they truly want to be a quarterback.”

quote:

“They're going to have to take hard coaching from me,” Freeze said. “I coach that spot really, really hard. But I've been honest with them and told them that. It's not personal, it's not anything, but when I watched the tapes from last year, I see that we've got to grow up in that room and understand what it means to be an SEC quarterback at a place like Auburn.”

quote:

”I'm excited about working with them,” Freeze said. “I think they're excited about having a clean slate and let's see, hey, forget the past. I don't care what they say about you. I don't care what they're saying. If you're caring about what they said about you, you're off to a bad start. You better get your mind right and cleared because I can help you. Philip can help you. (Senior analyst) Kent Austin can help you. But you better start it right, and that's the mentality of how I'm approaching.”

He's a '25, but Thornton was in town today visiting the school of one of the top '25 OT's.

https://twitter.com/barrettdavis4/status/1619036597642739712(nothing important here, just proof of the visit. Wake and Bama we're there today too)

The player- Mason Short- '25 OT

If these quotes weren't directed at Robby they are certainly words he should heed!

I think thats coach speak for Geriner is our clear number one coming out of spring. Now whether we get a one and done in the portal for this season remains to be seen.

Could McCall graduate and come in for the fall?

There will be options coming out of spring, but if its a back up from Georgia or someone similar, they are no different than the LSU kid who just transferred to Ole Miss, highly touted out of high school, but no experience, which sounds a lot like....Geriner so why clutter the room.

I truly can't say much here out of respect for Mike and his coaches.
This is the young man I was talking about last year. He is a Man Child amongst boys and his favorite sport is basketball.
I know for a fact he has no clear cut favorites despite what you may read although Dabo, Kirby and Nick have been on him for two-three years so we have ground to make up. Helicopters have landed, etc. Nick was in town just last week visiting Mike and a 5-star DB (no names) at Parkview.
This is an example how bad it was for us in the state of Georgia past few years.
A couple of coaches at Mike's High School called their contacts at Auburn last year telling them about Mike because he was interested in Auburn and wanted to visit. It was a done deal internally at Auburn and only a phone call invitation from our past HC was needed. Needless to say... Mike has never stepped foot on campus. The call was never made. We need to get him on campus.
This offer is BIG and BOLD as hell and tells Kirby he will now have to work in his state instead of making fun of Auburn!
This current staff is getting us back guys!!
