I might disagree, but I commend you for sticking with your Ashford pick lol

Here is an analogy regarding the QB situation. We just offered Muskrat who is the starting right guard for Baylor, same place our starting left tackle came from, same place our OC coached. Do you think the first contact we had with him was this Saturday when he was offered?

Neither do I. And thats why you will see a QB pop up this coming week and sign with us in quick fashion.

Jonesy has hit on this point several times, when good players hit the portal, they know where they are going.

Rest easy fellas I trust Freeze has this one. And the NIL boys are saying....whatever it takes.

Its not about six wins versus eight, its putting a good offense on the field for the Ryan Williams, Cam Colemans, and Perry Thompsons of the world to see themselves in that offense.

I agree, which is what I meant by major tampering lol, but those players we're from Tulsa not Baylor.

I agree that something is probably in the works. Whatever happens, I trust Freeze and like everything he is doing. I will until he gives a reason not to.

He certainly seems to have recruiting headed in the right direction, and did that fast

Correct me if I’m wrong, but per SEC rules any player that transfers in conference during the April portal window has to sit out the next year right?

They don’t have to pick their transfer destination in the first portal window, but their name has to be IN the portal by the time the January window closes to be eligible for fall.

4* TE Carter Nelson quotes:
quote:

“It was very good,” he said. “I liked the coaches and got to talk to the players a little bit. I was very pleased.”

quote:

“Just the energy the players were bringing,” Nelson said of what stood out to him. “That’s really important. If you’re playing on a down team that’s not fun. If you’re having fun with your brothers then it’s going to be fun.”

quote:

“They tell me they plan to pick it up even more and bring that back,” he said. “They want to make that a key role.

quote:

“I like him a lot so far,” Nelson added of Aigamaua. “There’s nothing bad I could say about him.”

He doesn't have any OVs planned ATM, but Auburn would be in consideration.

In addition to Auburn, he's visiting UT, UGA, Bama, and OM

please show me where I picked Ashford? All I said was if any of the 3 were our QB in the fall and the way they are now there would only be at most 6 win ceiling...period...unless something clicked this summer.

I was talking about the guy who posted before you. The one who specifically mentioned Ashford

Auburn offered ULM Edge/Jack LB Anthony Campbell

quote:

In 2022 at ULM, Campbell had 13 tackles, 7 solos and a sack.

From JLee

Reading between the lines, this looks like a guy we’ve offered due to the lack of depth at the position.

Auburn has been pretty selective with offers so far. This is just the third one to go out.

Other two were offensive lineman Muskrat (Tulsa) and Pregnon (Wyoming).

Still 25+ P5 teams to play their spring games. Gotta imagine we’ll see a big wave of portal entrants early next week

That dude sucks and barely played for a bad defense lol. I hope we don't get that one. Only way it even makes sense to offer him is if we expect a lot of outgoing DL transfers. Even for depth there's no need for him right now. He would be like 3rd or 4th string no matter where you lined him up.

Last year there was a similar reaction from many when we got Marcus Bragg. He ended up being a good depth piece and filled in pretty well when Eku Leota went down. So you never know. Maybe our coaches see something in him or maybe they are just desperate for some pass rushing and willing to take a chance.

Dude we just need bodies in the edge room right now. McAllister gets hurt or Faulk gets hurt and we’re down to Dylan Brooks and some walk-ons.

Got some intel on Alvin Henderson when I traveled home to Alabama this past weekend. According to my sauces close to the situation, he came back from his last visit telling everyone he is locked in on Auburn. Look for him to commit early.

So this kid has picked up offers from: Penn State, TCU, Miami, Ole Miss, MSU, and Texas Tech in short order (on top of Auburn).

Not much production, but he looks like a pure measurables guy that a lot of teams are seeing something in.

If you look at the depth chart, there's actually more there than you think, plus we still have some freshman to come in and a JUCO DL.
