If they aren't heading to Auburn then they should go far far away.

Reading some of the quotes, I believe Vandergriff is headed to the portal. Only a matter of time, as he is the #2 and will ultimately be competing with Stockton to take over in 2 yrs.

While I understand why he chose not to come to AU knowing GM’s system and lack of qb development, I hated to loose a high rated legacy to UGA. He would have been qb 1 this yr and probably last yr for us.

Texas, Texas, they got QBs stacked up like cord wood down there, what do they need another one for? Hope he goes and we go after Maalik Murphy.
Some real booster money pressuring Sarkisian to ensure "the anointed one" is the back up to Ewers. Last thing Murphy needs is another competitor.
If Manning can walk in the stadium on his own power he will be the number two QB, time for Maalik to come further east

He was talking about the DT to Texas, not BVG

Thanks sorry missed that. But I still hope we take a look at Maalik, he looked very good in the spring game, and the boosters will not allow him to be slotted as a backup.

5* WR Terry Bussey quotes:
On Marcus Davis:
Auburn is in play for an OV
quote:
"Yes sir," Bussey told Auburn Undercover about a potential return visit. "Probably sometime this summer."
On Marcus Davis:
quote:
"He’s a great guy," Bussey said. "We’ve got a strong relationship right now. But overall he’s great, I love him. We’re just trying to get to know each other more. Get around each other more. We were just in there chopping it up, getting to know each other, building a relationship.
"Yeah, he know the ropes around here, know what it’s like around here. Knows the tradition around here so it’s good to be a part of something he’s already been a part of."
quote:
"They’re in a good spot right now," Bussey said. "I’m still early in my recruitment but they’re in a good spot."
quote:
"It’s a great place here, I loved everything I seen here," Bussey said. "Love the coaches. It was a great visit for me."

Probably going to benefit from the OV limit being dropped in this particular recruitment

Correct me if I’m wrong, but per SEC rules any player that transfers in conference during the April portal window has to sit out the next year right?
Posted on 4/16/23 at 4:29 pm to bham_tiger
Yes. They have to sit out unless they meet the criteria to play immediately (grad transfer).
ETA: Grad transfers had to be in the portal by 1 February so even they can’t play in the fall if they transfer in conference.

So Vandergriff is of no use to us this year anyway. He’d have to transfer and sit. I’m not sure that’s what he’s looking for, unless he’s looking longer plan with the depth chart.

Unless he had a unique claim to file, Our opportunity to snag him ended in January and it’s unclear that his staff even likes him.
Doubt auburn would turn him down if he wanted to sit but I’m guessing he’s got options out of conference

Yeah..Honestly unless we do some massive tampering or McCall gets his shite together I'm not seeing this starting QB anywhere that we are supposed to bring in.

Remind me again did we choose to pass on the Ok State QB or was it the other way around.

Shoulder injury.
Don't know legit they are, but I've heard rumors he might be leaving Ole Miss anyway.

Ahh yeah. That is right. Oh well. I still believe Ashford is likely going to be starter for game one next year. Freeze might be thinking he will be a great way for the fans to keep their expectations to modest levels at the start.
That is not fair to Ashford's upside and im not trying to undercut it, but most of the fans don't want Ashford starting next year.

A lot of people would think the most we could get next year would be 6 wins with any of our QBs currently.
Unless a light clicks on this summer. Not sure it will for any of them...
